Echo Requests (retired)

Please fill out this form when requesting an Echo, then post it to this entry. The request will be dealt with as soon as possible.

When requesting an Echo induced by a past-life parallel/recurrence, please demonstrate clearly the similarity between the events, as well as the relation between the events and what is returned.

As of September 2013, Tier 2 Echoes can be granted once a month per character. Take care to specify the limitations and/or level of detail to the Echo requested! If you are unsure, suggestions will be gladly offered.

Reason for Echo: What caused the Echo, whether it be by a plot-related trigger or a canon recurrence. For the latter, this must be unusual enough to have been the first time the character has encountered it within Locke City, and strongly resemble a specific event from canon. Picking up a jug of milk from the store will not cause an Echo if it isn't any different than the times the character has done it before.
Type and tier: Physical change, power/ability, mental/memory, or item/creature. Tier 1 are the regular Echoes, and are typically a single memory/ability/item/etc. Tier 2 are essentially two regular Echoes rolled into one, such as an item and a memory or ability associated with it, or two directly-related memories, or so on. Currently only one Tier 2 Echo is allowed per month, so please be sure to note them somehow on your info posts.
What is returned: In the case of canon recurrences, these must be directly related to what has caused the Echo. Stronger recurrences = stronger Echoes.

Yes, lots. WARNING ONCOMING TL;DR

> Sparks are a invention of Beast Wars, which is technically the era I took Starscream from. they're linked series, he shows up there, and it's commonly considered that Beast Era canon > G1 canon where they contradict. A spark is essentially a transformer "soul".
> Vector Sigma is stated by both Beast Era canon AND G1 canon to be a source of Transformer life, the thing that gives them intelligence and makes them more than meets the eye; in Beast Era it's pretty explicitly stated to give them Sparks.
> The Quintessons take over Cybertron really early in canon and enslave the native machine life there. It's indicated that they altered or built factories there (IT'S... UNCLEAR?) to mass produce these creatures using the Vector Sigma device so they didn't have to do the hard part of programming their AI themselves. In any case, we actually see huge factories in flashback producing these guys under Quintesson rule, and it's implied that this is how reproduction continues right up through the Golden Age (when Starscream was "born") It's implied that after overthrowing the Quintessons, the Cybertronians took over the process themselves.
> Quintessons created two basic template sets for mass production: civilian units and military units. This is basically where Autobots and Decepticons come from -- MOST Autobots are civvie units, MOST Decepticons are military units. The distinction came during a civil war after the Quints were overthrown when the military guys went woah hey we're stronger, we should be in charge and take over all the things while the civvies went ahahah how about no?
> The number of types for mass production is sort of an in-joke and sort of canon -- the cartoon re-used a LOT of Starscream's animation model to fill out crowd scenes, so there's a LOT of robots that turn into F-15 fighters running around. If one extrapolates, that means that Starscream's unit specifically was either mass produced, or just had a really good survival rate during the war for whatever reason (unlikely???)

is that enough justification for you?

*e* If need be, I can cite specific examples from the TF wiki, and episode numbers.

In my defense, I didn't name it! The canon has lots of strange names and even stranger acting at times.

Thank you!

Episode 17 sort of encapsulates it best since it's a huge character shift scene so "flirtatiousness" would mostly be "an increased willingness to invade personal space" as exemplified by how she doesn't hesitate to take the eyeglasses off an ambassador. It's an increase in confidence and risk-taking. As for the intelligence bit, yeah political skill would fit the bill along with having a lot more stock knowledge to break the ice (e. g. Episode 11's episode in Moscow shows her lacking in grace when dealing with the guests at Marquis Weridge's party which contrasts how she better mingles with ambassadors later on in the show. For better mingling, you have to know shit like "Oh right, your homeland. Awesome place. I hear the GDP is blah blah blah pretend I care.").

Canon keeps it very very vague. I can give it a shot. Assuming that the earth-bound ghost we know in-series, and other characters' interactions with him, are representative...

Many people, humans and birds both, can't see, hear, or feel ghosts. One character speculates that those who can are more "attuned to the supernatural", that animals are supposed to be able to do it, and another says that only the "pure of heart" can interact with spirits, but it's not said just what that means. If it's a personality trait like innocence, well, the innocence of any of the characters who we absolutely know can see ghosts can be doubted. Three of those characters are birds, one is human. The two characters we absolutely know can't see ghosts are both birds, but close-minded and pompous or a complete yandere, respectively.

The one on-Earth ghost we see can disappear to the senses of spirit-sensitive characters, and is easily overlooked even when not disappearing. It's cold where he is but most characters don't associate that with him. He has no "presence" and gets compared to a ninja in how he appears or disappears. ...The subtle kind of ninja.

Whether Yuuya can see the ghost isn't spelled out like with the other characters, but in a zone where everybirdie can see spirits Yuuya, who kept on top of who was there and who was a surprise, was unfazed to see him - he's a species that's very rare in Japan and usually commented on, but Yuuya didn't - and called him by name without being introduced.

I would argue that if personality is the deciding factor for bird characters... Yuuya's not an innocent, but unlike the yandere he can work comfortably around guilt and is a moral, non-muderous person. Neither is he close-minded, and additionally he's fairly observant with regards to people. Also there's a self-sacrificial aspect to him, an appreciation for transience and a typically hidden melancholy, and a secretive side which seem to fit.

Reason for Echo: Either hanging around near the museum statues too long OR actually being brave enough to fondle one.
What is returned: Lightning's silver jewelry. B) Which includes a necklace aaaand a pierced navel YEP.

Reason for Echo: Haunting symptoms if that indeed becomes a thing for her.
What is returned: Some mild resistance to heat. Not enough to save her if you came after her with a blowtorch, but if she laid her hand on something hot it would take her a second longer to burn than usual.

Her sixth sense means the ability to see/hear/communicate with spirits and feel their presence; sorry I should have clarified I keep forgetting sixth sense can mean a bunch of different things. I can limit it to just one aspect or the other though, if you'd like!
