Please fill out this form when requesting an Echo, then post it to this entry. The request will be dealt with as soon as possible.

When requesting an Echo induced by a past-life parallel/recurrence, please demonstrate clearly the similarity between the events, as well as the relation between the events and what is returned.

As of September 2013, Tier 2 Echoes can be granted once a month per character. Take care to specify the limitations and/or level of detail to the Echo requested! If you are unsure, suggestions will be gladly offered.

Reason for Echo: What caused the Echo, whether it be by a plot-related trigger or a canon recurrence. For the latter, this must be unusual enough to have been the first time the character has encountered it within Locke City, and strongly resemble a specific event from canon. Picking up a jug of milk from the store will not cause an Echo if it isn't any different than the times the character has done it before.
Type and tier: Physical change, power/ability, mental/memory, or item/creature. Tier 1 are the regular Echoes, and are typically a single memory/ability/item/etc. Tier 2 are essentially two regular Echoes rolled into one, such as an item and a memory or ability associated with it, or two directly-related memories, or so on. Currently only one Tier 2 Echo is allowed per month, so please be sure to note them somehow on your info posts.
What is returned: In the case of canon recurrences, these must be directly related to what has caused the Echo. Stronger recurrences = stronger Echoes.

Reason for Echo: Hearing the Sage and Canon Reoccurence

Canon Recurrence: Writing on the abandoned mine/cave wall for his post. Canonly, Riku and Sora had a 'secret place', a cave under a waterfall on their play island that they discovered, containing the door to the heart of the world. Inside that cave are a lot of childish drawings that were done by Riku and Sora. Writing on the mine/cave wall with a rock in order to post to the network reminded him of that.

What is returned:

Ability to summon Way to the Dawn -- this is his main weapon in canon, a keyblade and by its nature, it locks and unlocks... stuff. Doors, worlds, and hearts seem to be a theme. It will allow him to use certain abilities later on, but it'll essentially be a large weird key/stick since he has no idea what it's for. Much like any level 1 character with a starter sword. Currently, Riku has no idea he can summon it, though he may find out about it if he gets trapped somewhere (again, sob) and needs to unlock a door.

Riku vaguely remembers the play island in general terms and more clearly, his younger self in the cave with Sora, as well as the big door they can't open and how mysterious/important it is.

Reason for Echo: Being threatened snarked by Rose/Hikari.
What is returned: A sense that females are / should be more dominant than males, and a lot of respect for them. Particularly those of the long haired and curvaceous variety; since the Empress is the greatest sign of power, control and respect his home planet has (having been in the position since the beginning of time), anyone with her traits remanded respect and was seen as stronger; thus troll society is female-dominated.

TL;DR Gunther flips his view of genders and now thinks sexy women deserve more respect than men. Also possibly with the flipside of thinking behaviors like watching romcoms and playing with dolls are pretty normal (young) male behaviors.

Writing this without dumping words like masculine/feminine in there was hard but damn that would've just made it more confusing.

Reason for Echo: Getting treated in a familiar way by a familiar typing quirk. While Vriska didn't know the Psiioniic, she knew Sollux - whose typing quirk was almost exactly the same as the one demonstrated in the thread. Like the Psiioniic here, Sollux also took precisely none of Vriska's shit.
What is returned: Very vague memories of Sollux - his name and the feeling that he didn't like her because of something she did to him. No specifics other than that, though.

What is returned: Memories of his codename being 'Raiden'.

What is returned: trolls are pretty hardy creatures, and while i wouldn't want karson to be as powerful or as tough as they are, i'd like him to get back some of his enhanced durability.

Reason for Echo: Being told by a bouncy, optimistic blonde that she should join the main group because of ~destiny and hope~.
What is returned: A memory of Caren rejecting Lucia's invitation to join her team and saying that, even if they all have to be together for a certain purpose, she doesn't trust them enough to go along with this. Kari won't recognize Lucia, Hanon, or Rina, nor will she know why she didn't like them or remember anything about their being princesses or needing to summon Aqua Regina.

Reason for Echo: this comment re: forming a superhero team and their outfit(s) | the plot and point of the avengers was the formation of the titular superhero team, and loki's actions throughout the movie (and prior, given events in thor and nick fury's own admission as to why s.h.i.e.l.d had originally looked into the programme) lead to it, costumes and team and all, forming by the end.
What is returned: "The Avengers. That's what we call ourselves, sort of like a team — 'Earth's mightiest heroes' type thing."

Reason for Echo: Watching the action replay of the sage's speech; it's linked to in the IC-FAQ which was thrown at him in his first post. He did this on the 26th and the speech was the 15th so I believe that is under the wire for getting an echo from it? Totally understandable if this is declined, though!
What is returned: The memory of his teenage self touching Alm's sun-pendant to become a Templar. No knowledge to put it in context, just the image of himself reaching out to it and a combined sense of hope and dread that makes it clear this was somehow life-alteringly important.

Reason for Echo: Discussing the prospect of taking someone she doesn't get along with and setting them on fire is somewhat parallel to her tendencies to throw magic around at people that cross her in-canon.
What is returned: A miniscule fragment of magical power, including the spell Dil Brand, a mostly-flash but little substance spell that does stun damage at most to people and a moderate amount of damage to property. The small amount of power would limit it to only being used once per day.

What is returned: The memory of clubbing Nepeta to death - and enjoying it. He will not remember who Nepeta is, where they were or that they were trolls; just that there was a girl and he killed her for no apparent reason.

Reason for Echo: Combination of seeing Shuji's Taka Candroid and hearing Shuji's voice.
What is returned: He'll be struck by the inexplicable sense that he does not like this person, as well as the sense that this person will ruin all of Mort's plans. He won't know that he and Eiji were enemies back in canon and Eiji was able to thwart Maki's plans to end the world; he'll just have the negative sentiment that goes along with that sort of thing.

Reason for Echo: A psychotic, Vermini-infested deer is about to come barreling through the front window of the cafe where she works. Occurring in this thread.
What is returned: Memories of the Folk, the term given to all supernatural beings in her world. Essentially she'll remember that things like dragons, kitsune, domovoi, fauns, centaurs and so on are all real and that they're referred to as Folk. She also remember the common human warning in her world "Trust not your eyes," a reference to the ability of most Folk to disguise themselves as humans or animals.

Reason for Echo: Interaction with a vermini in the scene with Alex
What is returned: His lover's journal, in place of the blank one he bought. It will mostly be blank as well, with only two entries in it at this time, both fairly early on and revealing nothing particularly incriminating (clothing choices, a trip to the theater, and a record of a conversation with a friend about a pair of socialite ladies of their acquaintance). The entries and book will be dated. Further entries will appear with later echoes :)

What is returned: Memory of the properties of Ben Franklin's lightning rod, with absolutely no additional context.

Reason for Echo: Traipsing around in the woods behind her house, especially with the intention of hanging out with people with strange powers, is a strong parallel to her day to day life in gensokyo, which she spent living in the forest of magic and hanging out with the various humans and yokai living there.
What is returned: The Mini-Hakkero, for real this time. Currently she lacks both the knowledge and the magical power to activate it, so it's effectively a paperweight.

Reason for Echo: A little of both, actually. Winter will find a pair of blue diamond earrings in a shop, and start to feel like she's remembering something; she'll find a Vermini-possessed animal, too, and both combined will trigger a memory.
What is returned: Rikka's transformation to Cure Diamond (0:29-1:15). Included by association are that Raquel may or may not have other abilities, and that Rikka was, in fact, a magical girl. Winter can't assume this form yet; she's missing her Cure Lovies, and Raquel can't become a Lovely Commune (that cell-phone form), let alone talk.

Reason for Echo: Talking to Chris - who is part-robot with glowy red eyes - about punching things.
What is returned: A memory of being punched by a glowy-red-eyed robot girl (www.youtube.com/watch?v=-SJbq5j3ANM). She will only remember the sequence at 2:29-2:40 - none of the PSYCHIC DOUBLE REACHAROUND stuff or the fact she was beaten to death.

Reason for Echo: same things as Camille-- Vermini fauna decided it would come at karson and candy while they feasted on cupcakes, and it was fucking terrifying. karkat, in canon, cries more than anyone else in the entire series-- half the time because he's terrified. karson has inherited this trait-- of sobbing like a baby when terrified.
What is returned: when trolls cry, they cry a watered down version of their blood color (in karkat's case, it was just red). i'd like karson to get his troll tears back.

Reason for Echo: Parallel. In a WIP log, Alex asks about Catherine's state, Ravi says she died.
What is returned: The memory of reuniting with Ravindra after waking up and asking him about Catherine and Amelia. If possible, I'd like the whole instance, which is here and around 10 - 15 minutes. If that's too much, then the bit between Alex saying "You're right. Of course you are. I died." and Ravi turning away in silence.

Reason for Echo: In a WIP log, a trauma patient bearing a striking physical resemblance to Catherine is admitted to the ER and then dies several hours later, with Ravi in the room when it happens.
What is returned: The memory of seeing Catherine's body in the wreckage of Arithea, along with his sister and goddaughter's bodies. He'll remember that they were his sister, his best friend's wife, and his best friend's daughter, and he'll remember his emotions at the time, but he won't remember any names or context.

Reason for Echo: Blues' post, in which he engages in eye-loss shenanigans and starts writing in his own blood.
What is returned: Vriska experiences an extremely similar situation in canon (ignore the characters that aren't her on that page - this is a flashback, of sorts, and they weren't really there). She loses an eye and an arm, then proceeds to write "8r8k" ("break") all over her walls in her own blood. As you do. I'd like her to remember this, and if possible for her to receive her defaced FLARP book as well.

Reason for Echo: The implications of Blues' new eyes coming in is a rather grim reminder of an important person.
What is returned: Memories of a fellow known as Rezo the Red Priest - a blind man and powerful magic-user who did an immense number of foul deeds to attempt to cure his own blindness. What Lina will remember specifically is his name, his blindness, that he did vague terrible things to try and cure himself, that his eyes were host to a fragment of Ruby-Eye Shabranigdu (A name that was given in her first echo), and the visual of seeing Shabranigdu revive and consume Rezo. (Fair warning for a bit of body horror regarding the transformation in that second link.)
