Please fill out this form when requesting an Echo, then post it to this entry. The request will be dealt with as soon as possible.

When requesting an Echo induced by a past-life parallel/recurrence, please demonstrate clearly the similarity between the events, as well as the relation between the events and what is returned.

As of September 2013, Tier 2 Echoes can be granted once a month per character. Take care to specify the limitations and/or level of detail to the Echo requested! If you are unsure, suggestions will be gladly offered.

Reason for Echo: What caused the Echo, whether it be by a plot-related trigger or a canon recurrence. For the latter, this must be unusual enough to have been the first time the character has encountered it within Locke City, and strongly resemble a specific event from canon. Picking up a jug of milk from the store will not cause an Echo if it isn't any different than the times the character has done it before.
Type and tier: Physical change, power/ability, mental/memory, or item/creature. Tier 1 are the regular Echoes, and are typically a single memory/ability/item/etc. Tier 2 are essentially two regular Echoes rolled into one, such as an item and a memory or ability associated with it, or two directly-related memories, or so on. Currently only one Tier 2 Echo is allowed per month, so please be sure to note them somehow on your info posts.
What is returned: In the case of canon recurrences, these must be directly related to what has caused the Echo. Stronger recurrences = stronger Echoes.

Reason for Echo: Upon taking her first run after her 'surgery', she's faster than normal! Flashback to how fucking fast vampires run.
Type and tier: Tier 1; mental
What is returned: Vampiric fear of fire. Since she's not a vampire yet, she won't lose control/frenzy, but even matches will startle her a bit.

Reason for Echo: It hasn't happened yet, but Philip is going to be coming to Hajime's restaurant and giving off crazy powerful scary things vibes to those who are aware of such things. It's about like what Hajime himself would be giving off in-canon in a similar situation.
Type and tier: Ability, Tier 1
What is returned: In canon, Hajime basically had the ability to sense the power of other Undead. The ability now would extend to sensing the superpowers of others, more or less that these people did have powers and the relative strength levels of said powers. (Basically, I'm looking at having his encountering Philip triggering the ability and unsettling him with a feeling of similarity though he won't know why he's feeling the latter.)

Type and tier: Memory, tier 1
What is returned: The knowledge that the guy she was spying on through the window is named Ganondorf and she hates his guts.

What is returned: The memory of her dream, which is gathering storm clouds dispelled by a pillar of light, which then turns into a boy in green with a fairy.

As clarification before we formally stamp the Echo, will Hajime be able to pick up on a sense of negative vibrations coming off of Phillip without the Echo - even if on a simple unsettled level with the boost to the Echo coming from knowing that Phillip is superhuman?

He has some of his Undead senses back, and he's been picking up on bits and pieces of this sort of thing. (Like when the transforming werewolves he sensed triggered his monster fight instincts that one time at Lyall's.) He'd get some vague "hey, other monster on deck" sense before the Echo kicked in. At that point, his senses would be pretty much screaming "this is something very bad and also like you" at him. He'd also start sensing other powerful superhumans--basically, the sorts of things the Joker Undead might be interested in fighting.

Reason for Echo: So here's a kind of weird one. Modern day Marisa doesn't speak Japanese, but she started taking Japanese 1 in school this year. As her past self spoke Japanese natively, could I have this be a sort of slow burn echo and have her just start learning Japanese unusually fast as she remembers bits of grammar/vocabulary/etc?

Reason for Echo: Dealing with unattached dead limbs

What is returned: The memory of picking up the unattached hand of a corpse (one of the ones he remembered burying in a ditch earlier, in fact) and tossing it over to the car, aiming for the trunk where the rest of the body was placed, but overshooting it and hitting the windshield instead.

Reason for Echo: Sparring with Skyler. The nature of the fight will have her more than once trying to recover her balance, which in itself wouldn't trigger the echo if not for the fact she's facing off against a powered enemy.
Type and tier: 1/Power
What is returned: Energize; focusing energy to summon creatures/cast spells/etc. It'll basically feel like a rush of strength/power, a warm feeling inside, and will help her get her breath back.

Reason for Echo: See above, specifically Skyler echoing back/casting Aero
Type and tier: 1/Power
What is returned: Minor control over wind (to serve as a basis for later abilities); she can create breezes, but hardly gust-force winds. Think more of "where'd that wind come from?"

Reason for Echo: Helene will be mugging a certain old lady, stealing one of her rings, and then tapping it mockingly...the last of which was the trigger to summon creatures in her precarnation.
Type and tier: 2/Physical + Power
What is returned: The ring will promptly transform in to one of her former rings, and summon back freakybird. Freakybird will have no powers of its own, be about the size of a raven, and able to be summoned/dismissed via tapping of the ring. If it's defeated, it will simply disappear, and be able to be resummoned after at least two hours.

Sweet! Now can I be really cheeky and request the same thing on a slower time scale for her starting to work through the pile of notes she got from her last life? Just, have her start learning the basics of magic over the next few months?

That ought to be acceptable! For clarification firstly for the purposes of tracking what she's already got at her disposal, what ought she be capable of once that process has completed?

I figure this will have to be pretty carefully handled to not be just free unlimited echoes, but Marisa's magic is based on painstaking research more than natural talent, So here's my proposal:

The immediate effect is that improved technique will mean she'll waste less energy when using her powers, so they'll start to be more powerful and less tiring. Over the long term, she'll be able to start researching and mastering spells and abilities from her past life. Rather than just giving her old abilities willy nilly, though, I'll take opportunities where she COULD have gotten an echo, and instead say "She mastered a new spell!" so that she's not getting her abilities the same way as everyone else, but she's still getting them at more or less the same rate.

Does that sound fair?
