Echo Requests (retired)



Please fill out this form when requesting an Echo, then post it to this entry. The request will be dealt with as soon as possible.

When requesting an Echo induced by a past-life parallel/recurrence, please demonstrate clearly the similarity between the events, as well as the relation between the events and what is returned.

As of September 2013, Tier 2 Echoes can be granted once a month per character. Take care to specify the limitations and/or level of detail to the Echo requested! If you are unsure, suggestions will be gladly offered.

Reason for Echo: What caused the Echo, whether it be by a plot-related trigger or a canon recurrence. For the latter, this must be unusual enough to have been the first time the character has encountered it within Locke City, and strongly resemble a specific event from canon. Picking up a jug of milk from the store will not cause an Echo if it isn't any different than the times the character has done it before.
Type and tier: Physical change, power/ability, mental/memory, or item/creature. Tier 1 are the regular Echoes, and are typically a single memory/ability/item/etc. Tier 2 are essentially two regular Echoes rolled into one, such as an item and a memory or ability associated with it, or two directly-related memories, or so on. Currently only one Tier 2 Echo is allowed per month, so please be sure to note them somehow on your info posts.
What is returned: In the case of canon recurrences, these must be directly related to what has caused the Echo. Stronger recurrences = stronger Echoes.

Reason for Echo: stupid brothers with kendo swords
Type and tier: item/memory tier 2
What is returned: Hasn't had a tier 2 yet, so sure. Picking up something that's clearly a weapon ( sword, specifically ) should have flashes of holding Vanitas' Void Gear - nothing precise, but random instances of it in his hand. I would also like for the Void Gear to make a reappearance - not summonable. Just... there.

Meant more familiarity with practical application of swinging it around. His fighting style is far too complex to echo back completely. Since he chains magic, afterimages, and combo strings altogether it's impossible to have a strong enough occurrence to echo it back. I'm not even remotely asking for something like that. So basically, just enough to not herp and derp. Familiarity of swinging a weapon around.

Reason for Echo: Plot-related, encountering snakes at a group meeting.
Type and tier: Ability, tier 2
What is returned:
First Tier: Calvin will gain back some of his preincarnation's Kryptonian physiology and ability to absorb and store solar energy. His senses will become slightly sharper, his body will become slightly stronger and tougher and he'll have more stamina from being able to absorb solar energy, but none of this will be particularly absurd by human standards.
Second Tier: A low level of heat vision. He'll be able to release concentrated bursts of solar energy in the form of beams fired from his eyes. The toughness of his eyes will dramatically increase to be able to withstand the heat, but still only to the point where he'll only be able to use the ability offensively for very short bursts.

Reason for Echo: Plot-related, confronting a group of Blood Keys who roughed up Arthur's grandmother.
Type and tier: Ability, tier 1
What is returned: A low level of super speed. He'll be able to run and jump at supersonic speeds for short bursts and his reaction time will increase appropriately. His body's durability will increase slightly to handle the stress of moving at supersonic speeds, but using it in more than short, concentrated bursts will still put more stress on him than he'll be able to handle.

Reason for Echo: Canon recurrence caused by getting shot at by Blood Keys in the aforementioned confrontation because, come on, what'd they expect to happen?
Type and tier: Memory, tier 1
What is returned: A memory of him seeing a really big military jet about to shoot him with a very big gun, then him leaping out of the way as fast as possible to avoid being shot. (Seen here starting at the 0:10 mark). In the linked log, this will have a muscle memory sort of effect, instinctively triggering the realization that he can move at supersonic speeds.

Character: Miranda Atmiller/Mir
Reason for Echo: Plot: WHOOPS INCOMING STATUES AT THE MEETING. She still hasn't seen on.
Type and tier: Tier 2 / Physical + Item
What is returned: Two things: One is the rest of Mir's Reyvateil body, which is a little shorter than her current human one but also neccessitates the second thing: the rest of the framework that enables Song Magic (it basically looks like a giant, oddly designed antenna), attached to the SH server that's still at her house, without which she would not live. (Speaking of the SH server, it'll find her Reyvateil body really quickly and copy Miranda's psyche into it as I think was discussed when I applied for that echo.)

This will enable her to use the Hymns she has currently learned as well as any she'll pick up - extremely strong emotions can cause Song Magic to be created spontaneously (although only Aurica demonstrates this ability in the series, and it's implied that it's very, VERY difficult to pull off) - this may result in Miranda learning some magic that Mir did not have in canon.

Reason for Echo: OH SHIT SON GONNA FIGHT SOME SNAKE STATUES
Type and tier: Tier 2 item/ability
What is returned: Her God Tier ability to steal the luck from her enemies and keep it for herself (I'm cool with this being powered down considerably, since in canon it makes her foes so unlucky the floor collapses beneath their feet and they die - in StE, I'm thinking it'd be less godmodey to have her steal half an enemy's luck? So they'll be at a disadvantage and Octavia will gain a boost, but it's not an INSTANT WIN button).
She'll also get her bright orange God Tier outfit/"godhoodie".

Reason for Echo: Encountering a snake statue at a group meeting to deal with an alien and the statues.
Type and tier: 2, physical/ability
What is returned: A bit more of Sandrath's immortality, tied to a second form that resides inside of him. If one or several limbs or vital organs are removed, he can still function normally. The only draw back from this is that whatever injuries he's sustained will be replaced by a black, completely featureless 'second skin' with flickers of white that appear from time to time.

What is returned: Esuna and Curasa both, furthering my goal to have her find a useful niche by healing stuff. :|b She's never had a tier-2, so she should be in the clear for a January one.

Reason for Echo: Feeling out the snakes coming.
Type and tier: Memory, Tier 1
What is returned: Remembering feeling an oncoming ambush when walking with Aang in her family's garden. GREAT.

What is returned: Let's move up to like, Level 2 earthbending. :|b More intermediate-y than before.

Reason for Echo: ALSO hasn't seen a snake since Proud's capture.
Type and tier: Ability, Tier 1
What is returned: Next level up of telekinesis, which going by other people's use of it, would be up to and including her own body weight. ...So like 115 - 120 pounds.

Reason for Echo: ALARM, SNAKE FIGHT SNAKE FIGHT
Type and tier: Tier 1 Ability
What is returned: The next stage of his Breath powers - Mac will be able to consciously control his powers. He'll be able to command strong gusts of wind (enough to unstable a person, most likely), shape wind currents into attacks (he once turned a tornado into a giant planetary drill - obviously he won't be able to do that), and be able to use his turn into wind ability on a conscious level, though with limitations - he'll only be able to move about 30 feet or so before needing to reconstitute himself.

What is returned: A HORSE, OF COURSE. Wander's incredibly loyal steed Agro + a memory of the horse. Specifically, her name and that she was his horse.
