Echo Requests (retired)

Please fill out this form when requesting an Echo, then post it to this entry. The request will be dealt with as soon as possible.

When requesting an Echo induced by a past-life parallel/recurrence, please demonstrate clearly the similarity between the events, as well as the relation between the events and what is returned.

As of September 2013, Tier 2 Echoes can be granted once a month per character. Take care to specify the limitations and/or level of detail to the Echo requested! If you are unsure, suggestions will be gladly offered.

Reason for Echo: What caused the Echo, whether it be by a plot-related trigger or a canon recurrence. For the latter, this must be unusual enough to have been the first time the character has encountered it within Locke City, and strongly resemble a specific event from canon. Picking up a jug of milk from the store will not cause an Echo if it isn't any different than the times the character has done it before.
Type and tier: Physical change, power/ability, mental/memory, or item/creature. Tier 1 are the regular Echoes, and are typically a single memory/ability/item/etc. Tier 2 are essentially two regular Echoes rolled into one, such as an item and a memory or ability associated with it, or two directly-related memories, or so on. Currently only one Tier 2 Echo is allowed per month, so please be sure to note them somehow on your info posts.
What is returned: In the case of canon recurrences, these must be directly related to what has caused the Echo. Stronger recurrences = stronger Echoes.

Mostly, how he won it, which is encompassed in 0:30 to 1:00 in this video. The battle was a brief one, and the events shown there took place over only a couple of minutes.
peacefulwinter: (I think that's an excellent idea.)

Player: MaxSalsa
Character: Winter Adamas/Rikka Hishikawa
Reason for Echo: Heading to the art gallery, having finally heard about those statues and wanting to take a look.
What is returned: Rikka's previously-mentioned fairy partner, Raquel - but just as an inanimate doll for now. Future Echoes will restore sentience, then motion, then Raquel's usual ability to fly, then (somewhere down the line) the ability to turn into a Lovely Commune; that last one, combined with the Cure Lovies Winter needs to get back, will finally restore her ability to become Cure Diamond.

Side note: somewhere along the line, Raquel may or may not need to remember who Winter's preincarnation is. Is that something we should keep on the table as a later Echo, or should Raquel have never met Rikka, as far as he's concerned?

Yup! Those two pages are the entirety of the scene, it's kinda just a drive by to show what YB had been up to until that point since the gang had just found out that Bakura was missing.

She's not nearly brave enough to touch something in an art museum anyway - is the "observe the statues for a while" Echo still relatively safe, aside from the guards wondering why random girl number 80 didn't come earlier?
peacefulwinter: (Are you sure about this?)

[personal profile] peacefulwinter 2013-06-12 05:10 pm (UTC)(link)
Oops, didn't see that at all. Okay, never mind on the museum. Can I reassign this to a visit to the Sage with the rest of the party, which I'll go start plotting?

Player: Airdra
Character: Hajime Aikawa
Reason for Echo: He'll be going to see the Sage.
What is returned: Undead strength, at least the levels he can reach in the form of Human Undead. It's a handy thing to have when walking into a trap in a cave and people might need saving.

Character: Chris Starsky
Reason for Echo: Meeting the Sage
What is returned: The short version: Arbitrary 1980s Cartoon Style Inorganic Chemistry Skills

Long version: Starscream was a scientist before he was a warrior, and because G1 is an 80s cartoon that means he's a generic Omnidisciplinary Scientist with knowledge as the plot demands. EVEN SO, from what's in the show one can determine that MOST of what he knows is astronomy, physics, chemistry, and engineering.

As such, I'd like to ask that Chris get back his chemistry knowledge; this'd be about the equivalent of getting a PHD in chemical engineering (starscream is nine million years old, he had enough time to learn several disciplines)

This knowledge won't be like BAM CHEMISTRY; it'll be there but Chris will have no idea that she knows it unless she happens upon a problem that would require a chemist. In which case she'll go "... wait I know the solution here how weird."

Character: Ax/Alex
Reason for Echo: going to see the Sage
What is returned: I'd like to give Alex a limited version of his morphing abilities back, but, of course, he won't know how to use them, because he won't remember any of his training. Acquiring new morphs, and any animals he canonically acquired, would be off-limits for now, and he'd have to figure out from scratch how to deliberately trigger the change. I was thinking he would basically spontaneously demorph to his Andalite body in reaction to a severe injury in the caves, thus healing himself.

There's a 2-hour time limit in canon, and if you stay in a morph for longer than that, you're stuck. His human body is technically a morph, but I'd like to flip it so that human is his default, since he won't have any idea this weirdo blue centaur thing is really him, and it would be kind of pointless to give the ability back only to have him lose it because he stays human too long.
hollowleg: somewhat incredulous (☼ but it's feeling just like)

[personal profile] hollowleg 2013-06-13 03:19 am (UTC)(link)
Player: Bat
Character: Shiro Nakamura
Reason for Echo: Sage encounter
What is returned: His true name; "Zangetsu". Thanks, recent canon!

AND a canon recurrence one.

Reason for Echo: A grievous injury is inflicted on him during the Sage trap. In the past, Hollow-dominated Ichigo has healed from horrible injuries like cut off arms and holes through the chest.
What is returned: High-speed Regeneration. Initial limitation on it is that it wears him out big time any time it activates in proportion to the severity of the injury. Except in the case of the initial activation cause I want him to get out of the cave alive before he passes out.
odd_jobs: (Another car? Really?)

[personal profile] odd_jobs 2013-06-13 03:19 am (UTC)(link)
Player: Nishi
Character: Kimishima/Tadashi
Reason for Echo: Kenji busting up his car
What is returned: A memory of taking stock of a damage post job to his ride and secondary, anecdotal information about the job itself (Half ranting to himself, half depressed whining). Mostly an offscreen scene, this would be a laundry list of parts and a vague plan on getting replacements and refitting.

This would give some really basic mechanical/spacial awareness and a sort of a spark for how things work. No real knowledge yet. Also an impending doom of KNOWING THIS IS GOING TO BE A PATTERN SOMEHOW.
caosgo: (though we lie entwined)

[personal profile] caosgo 2013-06-13 04:12 am (UTC)(link)
Player: Enzel
Character: Castiel (Emmanuel)
Reason for Echo: Seeing the Sage!
What is returned: His angel blade. Here's another image because the one on the wiki kinda sucks. It's about a foot and a half long and made from some kind of metal that looks like silver but is extremely difficult to damage in any way. However, other than that, it's just an ordinary knife for now. No special monster-killing powers, just a pointy metal stick.
