Please fill out this form when requesting an Echo, then post it to this entry. The request will be dealt with as soon as possible.

When requesting an Echo induced by a past-life parallel/recurrence, please demonstrate clearly the similarity between the events, as well as the relation between the events and what is returned.

As of September 2013, Tier 2 Echoes can be granted once a month per character. Take care to specify the limitations and/or level of detail to the Echo requested! If you are unsure, suggestions will be gladly offered.

Reason for Echo: What caused the Echo, whether it be by a plot-related trigger or a canon recurrence. For the latter, this must be unusual enough to have been the first time the character has encountered it within Locke City, and strongly resemble a specific event from canon. Picking up a jug of milk from the store will not cause an Echo if it isn't any different than the times the character has done it before.
Type and tier: Physical change, power/ability, mental/memory, or item/creature. Tier 1 are the regular Echoes, and are typically a single memory/ability/item/etc. Tier 2 are essentially two regular Echoes rolled into one, such as an item and a memory or ability associated with it, or two directly-related memories, or so on. Currently only one Tier 2 Echo is allowed per month, so please be sure to note them somehow on your info posts.
What is returned: In the case of canon recurrences, these must be directly related to what has caused the Echo. Stronger recurrences = stronger Echoes.

Reason for Echo: Chatting with Vin about Vin's magic metal powers.
What is returned: Recollection that metalbending is a thing, and the knowledge that it was supposed to be impossible, until it was invented at some point while she was alive. Not aware she's the one who invented it, just an understanding of it existing/what it does/gdi where are my magic water powers. Sophie's annoyance at not getting cool superpowers continues.

Reason for Echo: Sneaking in my free water echo...
What is returned: A tiny bit of his shapeshifting powers. More specifically: eyes. As in he can sprout random creepy eyes from anywhere on his body, as large or as small as he wants (though that might take some practice and why would he even want to practice this besides learning how to not do it ever).

He can see through them like normal eyes, which is probably weird as fuck. They also serve as big obvious weakpoints because no one likes getting punched in the eye.

Reason for Echo: Sophie calling his abilities "magic".
What is returned: A feeling of unease about magic in general. When Hope first started out as a l'Cie, he really didn't like his new magic powers and was happy to let the adults do all the fighting for him in the beginning. Miles for his part never thought of it as "magic" because he's a science kid and science =/= magic.


Reason for Echo: The Echo GDoc linked to him. Specifically the entry with the images of the red rose crystal and the sword.
What is returned: Lightning. Basically her name, real name (Claire Farron) and that she was/is his best goddamn friend and mother-sister-figure and she's the best damn thing ever okay. Because he's seen that crystal loads of times as Hope and while the sword looks strange, it is unmistakably a gunblade, which is Lightning's signature weapon.


Reason for Echo: Again that echo gdoc. Specifically the entry about a jungle with monsters.
What is returned: The Sunleth Waterscape. Not the name, but what it looks like, that it is indeed full of monsters, and that he'd been there before. Hope had been there on a school trip, even if he never visited it in-game. And yes, it is indeed full of monsters, but school officials probably led the kids through a safe area with none.


Reason for Echo: Again that echo gdoc. The entry of a pearl coming out of someone's body compounded with the sight of the rose crystal.
What is returned: Ability to manifest his eidolith. It comes out of the back of his left wrist. He wont know what the hell it is or what to do with it, and it'd be useless if he tried doing things with it anyway.

Character: Julien/Yuuya
Reason for Echo: Aaron forgetting while Krystal's on hiatus, becoming more like he was pre-game. Still considering Julien a friend, but quite suddenly keeping him more at arm's length and not remembering that trust they had.

It's a canon recurrence. Yuuya wasn't allowed to live nearby when Sakuya was growing up for fear of tainting him, but he visited every few months. When he was very young Sakuya was sweet and open, but as his station got to him Sakuya withdrew and became increasingly hostile. It felt very sudden to Yuuya and was an influence on his personal philosophy.
What is returned: This memory, "I didn't do it so he'd love me".

Basically it's the information that Yuuya has a brother who is beginning to be influenced to hate him, that Yuuya is not broadly liked and does not like himself but believes he has integrity, there's some horrible thing he did to keep his brother alive that he must keep secret, and there is hope.

What is returned: Armin can see a shitty situation and come up with a damn good plan pretty quickly. I want Adam to gain just a smidgen of that thinking skill back.

Reason for Echo: Canon recurrence of the cast mate convo variety. :T This conversation with the Psiionic, mainly the last tag.
What is returned: The information that a long, long time ago in a galaxy far, far away there was indeed a rebellion led by some guy called the Signless. It definitely feels like history over personal knowledge, though.

Reason for Echo: Talking to Alan about his mom.
What is returned: Bertholdt will distinctly remember being told "That piece of gate you destroyed with your kick landed on my house... and my mom wasn't able to escape." He won't remember who said it, but he will know it was said to him and feel extremely guilty about it. He won't know the context or anything, just that phrase and the guilt.

Reason for Echo: The Echo info doc mentioning the "purple pearl" coming out of one of the authors.
What is returned: That rose-shaped crystal she has? She'll actually remember that it's called an Eidolith and is important for something called 'Eidolons' and her source of power in general. No other context, tho.

Reason for Echo: Same as above, but this time the mention of the jungle full of monsters (...she's being pinged by the same things as Miles but with different effects, yes...).
What is returned: A vague sense of duty regarding said monsters, like it's her job to kill the life out of them - Lightning was quite familiar with foresty areas being full of beasties, being in the division of the military whose jurisdiction included getting rid of the monsters that lived in the wilds outside settled areas.

Reason for Echo: This conversation, in which the name Joker in relation to playing cards is discussed.
What is returned: Memory in which he's in a dimly-lit tunnel and someone, a teenage boy, gets his attention by throwing a handful of cards at him. They're all Jokers. Hajime is very offended by the gesture, and he will remember telling the kid, "Do not refer to me as a card!" There's more to their discussion, but he won't remember it--just having cards thrown at him, a sense that he both knows and does not like this person, and not wanting to be referred to as a card despite knowing there is a good reason behind that logic.

What is returned: The sense that he's seen multiple (six), differently-colored, moons in the sky. He won't really remember having lived in a planet with them, or anything about what they mean, but he'll know he saw them at some point. ...And become totally convinced he must have traveled to space or something.

What is returned: His past self's last memory before complete physical "death" - collapsed and fading on the ground, with a monk speaking in an unambiguously sinister fashion over him before a body-snatching Bonethief messily pops out from its use of him in meat-puppetry.

Reason for Echo: Reading this particular bit on a post he commented to. Mostly the bit about creating a truth based on logic and evidence.
What is returned: This conversation with Bansai Ichiyanagi/Oswald Furst (From 15:29-17:17, so until Oswald walks away) where Oswald speaks of how he creates truths all the time. He won't remember the name of this guy quite yet or exactly what he did beyond creating a truth that Kay is a criminal and that Kay is someone Edgeworth cares about (though he won't know that they are just friends).

Hopefully this is all right since it wasn't my thread but Edgeworth would have read the other answers since that was definitely a subject of interest to him.

Reason for Echo: Parallel echo, Reilanin talking to Randolph about werewolves and asking after what it's like for him to be one.
What is returned: The memory of speaking over the ledgers with the other werewolf she discovered to be in Tyrol about how they differed, and her thoughts of using that knowledge to change her own form of lycanthropy with Belief.

The actual notion of Belief and its background would still be missing, though. She'd just have a sense of "belief" being important.

What is returned: In canon, Karkat stays up for a month, watches Tavros get his legs chainsawed off, faints, and then his dreamself dies on Prospit. I want him to remember the last bit-- dying on Prospit.
