Echo Requests (retired)

Please fill out this form when requesting an Echo, then post it to this entry. The request will be dealt with as soon as possible.

When requesting an Echo induced by a past-life parallel/recurrence, please demonstrate clearly the similarity between the events, as well as the relation between the events and what is returned.

As of September 2013, Tier 2 Echoes can be granted once a month per character. Take care to specify the limitations and/or level of detail to the Echo requested! If you are unsure, suggestions will be gladly offered.

Reason for Echo: What caused the Echo, whether it be by a plot-related trigger or a canon recurrence. For the latter, this must be unusual enough to have been the first time the character has encountered it within Locke City, and strongly resemble a specific event from canon. Picking up a jug of milk from the store will not cause an Echo if it isn't any different than the times the character has done it before.
Type and tier: Physical change, power/ability, mental/memory, or item/creature. Tier 1 are the regular Echoes, and are typically a single memory/ability/item/etc. Tier 2 are essentially two regular Echoes rolled into one, such as an item and a memory or ability associated with it, or two directly-related memories, or so on. Currently only one Tier 2 Echo is allowed per month, so please be sure to note them somehow on your info posts.
What is returned: In the case of canon recurrences, these must be directly related to what has caused the Echo. Stronger recurrences = stronger Echoes.

The fighting is based solely off of, well, the fighting.

Rather silly of me not to ask about it earlier I suppose - can the Sage give him the word "Decepticon"?

Player: Enzel
Character: Emmanuel (Castiel)
Reason for Echo: Bats!! I mean Vermedi in the mines.
What is returned: Knife combat abilities, so he can put that bad boy to use. Here is the best example I could find. He still doesn't have angelic reflexes or durability, but he knows how to handle the thing. (there's also another scene where he throws it very accurately into someone's chest, but would that kind of thing count as a separate skill from close combat?)

I've never set a hard time limit on the trance's duration. The longest he personally has ever held a trance over someone was a little less than an hour. The trance's duration and strength isn't static; theoretically, it will grow stronger the older Alex becomes and the more he uses it. I think, in the scope of this game, the latter would have much more of an effect than the former (unless we get a time skip or summat.)

It does not weaken under prolonged eye contact. It holds for however long Alex maintains it. When he first started using it, he had to maintain eye contact to maintain the trance. After nine months using it to hunt, he was able to maintain the trance without being present.

That's fine! That was kind of a long shot anyway.

I was still thinking about keeping it limited, so basically anything that SHOULD kill him immediately, won't. (Such as anything to do with damage to the heart, brain, and neck.) It will still hurt him, though, and there's the possibility of dying after several days if he hadn't got treated properly.
talktothedoll: (so the can opens into a robot dinosaur)

Player: Airdra
Character: Mort Yokugawa/Dr. Maki
Reason for Echo: Fighting Vermedi.
What is returned: Knowledge of exactly how to build a Tako Candroid, a small robot that is a can in its dormant state and a little ink-squirting flying octopus when it's active. He'd be able to draw exact blueprints and could build one if given the proper materials.

No inconvenience at all! Thanks much.

Player: Bii
Character: Eugene Yokugawa / Kosei Kougami
Reason for Echo: Whacking at evil mine bats (Vermedi?) with his rolling pin
What is returned: Another candroid! This time it's the tako candroid, which is a little octopus robot that squirts ink! If you get a lot of them they can join together to make things like a ramp but Eugene would only be getting the one.

Arright, decision made.

Player: Kd7sov
Character: Felix/Fred Vandenberg
Reason for Echo: beating up getting beat up by fighting the bats'n'stuff in the mine
What is returned: Cure Psynergy, a low-level earth-based healing spell
controlsdesire: (that's the right attitude.)

[personal profile] controlsdesire 2013-06-18 02:24 am (UTC)(link)
Player: Knight
Character: Shuji Kiyokumi / Eiji Hino

Reason for Echo: A comment made by Kousei Kougami about reaching out his hand to someone. This is a heavily recurring theme in canon and something Eiji spends a great deal of time coping with. In the final episode, Eiji has a vision of Ankh saying, "I am no longer the hand you should be reaching for." This medal is what was left behind after Ankh's death, where it had previously contained the Greeed's consciousness.
What is returned: Ankh's Broken Core Medal.

Reason for Echo: Watching the Sage livestream and hearing him speak.
What is returned: A Taka Candroid.

Reason for Echo: Seeing everything go down during the Sage meeting. It mirrors a situation from Eiji's early life where he was unable to save a young girl's life because he couldn't reach her in time. As a large theme in the series is Eiji's desire for power to be able to help people and this is a mirror of that feeling of helplessness...
What is returned: Ptera Medal (on the left) much in the same way as the Tyranno Medal was returned in my previous request. The medal will remain on the inside of his body for now.

(God help me, I am so far behind.)

Player: Nadia
Character: Takako / Tamara
Reason for Echo: A lovely canon recurrence when Sam gets injured protecting her after the trap is sprung (assuming Haley and I still go with our idea when she gets off hiatus, if not will run with it being from bats attacking her).
What is returned: The horrible memory of Sasame dying to protect Fenrir. Linked here and here. And if anyone is going to watch that I highly recommend having some tissues handy because it's definitely a tearjerker. If possible I'd like to go up to where Takako is captured by the tree after Sasame dies (at around 5:55 of the second video). She's not going to see or hear Hayate and Himeno there at all, as Takako was pretty much completely focused on Sasame and her pain, she'll just have the sense that they weren't alone.

And because I was a bit vague with this scene in my app to avoid headcanon, the part where the vines attack her could be interpreted in a few ways as far as Fenrir's intentions. I'm going with it being an accident of her own making. She knew the tree would react that way, but the intended victim was her, not Sasame.

Player: Batty
Character: Kotetsu Kaburagi
Reason for Echo: Fighting the Vermedi/infected bats
What is returned: Parkour-ish skills. In canon, he does things like make a running jump at a pole and then launch himself off that to get a kid's balloon out of a tree.

No worries! As someone else has gotten the gang out of the cave, no need for it anyway :D

So gonna instead request spoken Egyptian as a useless echo instead!
