Echo Requests (retired)

Please fill out this form when requesting an Echo, then post it to this entry. The request will be dealt with as soon as possible.

When requesting an Echo induced by a past-life parallel/recurrence, please demonstrate clearly the similarity between the events, as well as the relation between the events and what is returned.

As of September 2013, Tier 2 Echoes can be granted once a month per character. Take care to specify the limitations and/or level of detail to the Echo requested! If you are unsure, suggestions will be gladly offered.

Reason for Echo: What caused the Echo, whether it be by a plot-related trigger or a canon recurrence. For the latter, this must be unusual enough to have been the first time the character has encountered it within Locke City, and strongly resemble a specific event from canon. Picking up a jug of milk from the store will not cause an Echo if it isn't any different than the times the character has done it before.
Type and tier: Physical change, power/ability, mental/memory, or item/creature. Tier 1 are the regular Echoes, and are typically a single memory/ability/item/etc. Tier 2 are essentially two regular Echoes rolled into one, such as an item and a memory or ability associated with it, or two directly-related memories, or so on. Currently only one Tier 2 Echo is allowed per month, so please be sure to note them somehow on your info posts.
What is returned: In the case of canon recurrences, these must be directly related to what has caused the Echo. Stronger recurrences = stronger Echoes.

Player: G-man
Character: Mordin Solus
Reason for Echo: Pink light in the sky

Player: Helen
Character: Alucard / Adrian
Reason for Echo: Seeing the pink light
What is returned: I was wondering if I could sooort of have two things at once? Can Adrian have his original eye colour back (gold) as well as some blood / red meat desires that when fulfilled he feels more "well" / strong?

Player: Krystal
Character: Mamoru/Ichigo
Reason for Echo: fighting vermini with Vanessa at Starbucks
What is returned: The hotheaded aspect of his personality. Mamoru will be less willing to take insult lying down and more willing to start fights, verbal and physical.

Player: Sylver
Character: Kenji/Kazuma
Reason for Echo: MYSTERY PLOT!
What is returned: The ability to manifest the first form of his Alter. He would just be getting the armored arm and a fraction of the strength that goes along with it (for example, instead of being able to knock down an entire building, he'd only be able to punch a decent sized hole in the wall). The red fin/spike thingies that he uses to give him super speed would either be non-functional or absent entirely, nor would he have the regenerative/accelerated healing that he has in-canon. I have some tl;dr on his Alter here, if you need it.

Player: Pearl
Character: Emery Ayliff | Merlin
Reason for Echo: Event shenanigans!
What is returned: The gold shine to his eyes (only visible when he uses magic) + the spellbook Gaius gives him in episode 1. From there he'll be able to use basic elemental spells (fire, wind, water, air), but nothing too flashy!
entertainaplanb: 'oh dear' face (Default)

Player: Jill
Character: Becky Samson
Reason for Echo: cosplaying her canon's equivalent's genderswapped sci-fi author at the con
What is returned: A brief memory of HG Wells busting open the crate to her time machine (and, if possible, a vague feeling that she's seen this woman somewhere before. She has - as a statue, in a previous Echo - but she won't make that connection just yet).
(Edit for clarification: I do want Becky to know this other woman is HG Wells after this Echo, possibly for great mis-pronoun-ing if the Wells canon comes up in conversation. That and the fact of a time machine inna crate is the only necessary context, nothing about the circumstances in which they're talking or how that's even a thing.)

Character: Ben Renard (Ventus)

Reason for Echo: Ben will be given a green star charm by Maya in this log.
What is returned: The scene of receiving his Wayfinder from Aqua before the MoM exam, the full memory though not the context for all the words being said.

Reason for Echo: Also in the convention log, Maya draws the Keyblade Master Emblem next to her signature.
What is returned: Wearing it himself, on his chest.

Ok, that's fine. Is there a possibility in the future to get a bit more in the way of guidelines with Echoes? I wasn't aware there was a limit on how fast certain areas could be regained, and I know I'm not the only one confused about what's allowed and what's not. I feel bad that I keep wasting you guys time when I honestly just don't understand. ;;

Character: Bakura

What is returned: Jounouchi vs Haga in Battle City, specifically stuff around Insect Queen being summoned. [Staring down a giant bug monster, basically :D]

Honestly, my plans are pretty vague at the moment, but... they're tending to show up around reincarnates, even while they're keeping their distance, right? So Fred and Hajime run into each other, as they just did, and something draws their attention to the Vermini. Then maybe Hajime explains something about them being bad news or enemy agents or related to the minebats or whatever, or maybe Fred just gets unnerved and lets fly a Spire or something. Does that suit?

And yes, just a cat. I was considering an injokey thing about it pushing potato chips at him, but that'd really be too much setup for not enough payoff.

I'd like for it to hit him now, since I was planning to have him post about it, but I know I dithered about what the Echo ought to be for a while. Could he see the pink light and have it triggered that way instead, or is that only open to certain people?

Follow up question! CAn an echo trigger another echo? Since the feeling of Siegfried getting an echo parallels Mytho getting back a shard of his heart.

[personal profile] shiromadoushi 2013-07-17 03:27 am (UTC)(link)
Player: Fran
Character: Mytho
Reason for Echo: Attempting to recapture the feeling of an echo so he can properly explain it so much that he relives the feeling.
What is returned: Memory of getting a heart shard back and the knowledge related to it [that someone found a piece of his heart and returned it to him, that his heart was shattered and needed to be found again, etc.]

Neuroshock is a program that can electrocute organic creatures. It has variable settings. "Lethal" is probably a poor choice of words - it's intended to be so, but it rarely kills its target outright, and generally must be combined with other forms of damage to finish someone off. It has a range of three meters, lasts for nine seconds, and paralyzes the enemy, doing moderate damage. The wiki says that it also permanently lowers the target's accuracy, which I assume is a result of damaged coordination, and does actually wear off, although it likely takes several hours to a day to do so.
