I'm going more for the ability to use it, but not quite yet the ability to use it well and considering it is an ability born of despair, until she masters it (maybe a few months of practice?) or receives an echo for the rest it will have an equally high chance of backlashing and entangling her to be fair since it is pretty powerful even without the draining ability.
And actually will go ahead and post for the new guy too since I just tossed him right into plot.

The sword itself will just look like the one he had in his preincarnation, but otherwise act like a normal sword since it's going to take more than a couple of echoes to regain all its funky abilities.
