Starscream advised caution and said they should turn back, no matter how interesting the planet looked or what energy readings they found; Skyfire insisted. A storm separates them, and Starscream circles the globe, trying to find his friend, but fails.
Chris will not yet figure out that this planet was Earth. She will, however, understand that Skyfire was Starscream's only friend, and that losing him was kind of a big deal.
