As for the second, however, to be certain, what are the mushrooms' own properties? To they lend themselves to anything in particular or have magical qualities of their own, or are they simply useful components in spells, and do they allow for preparing any particular spells?

Also note that they will not thrive and will be ineffective if used outside of "pink light zones" (Locke and Vegas)!
