What is returned: In canon, Setsuna has three angel wings that he can summon on command or when he is emotionally distraught. Seeing Rakki's wings would trigger him to summon his own since wings on a real human and not a movie character is definitely something he's never encountered before. Now, while Setsuna will summon these wings, he will not know how to pull them back in unless he sees someone do that.

What's being returned is the memory of Setsuna's first encounter and fight with Michael, while Setsuna is clearly in the body of a woman, Alexiel. Michael attacks Setsuna with both fire magic and his sword throughout the fight.
