Hello dearest mods, I promise I'm not going to be throwing another application onto the mountain you have right now, but I was curious about something for a possible future application.
I have a question about comic book characters and on what to do about their canon. DC rebooted their stories which started all of their major titles to issue 1. (Batman, Superman, etc.). This quite literally made it so some characters never existed and some back stories got completely changed. The character I'm questioning about is Damian Wayne. Thankfully his back story is exactly the same, it's never specifically stated in any of the issues he's in that anything changed, however with the way STE applications work his history and personality could be 'pre-reboot' or 'new 52'.
The question I have is this. Since a sizable amount of Damian's new 52 story is written by Grant Morrison, who is a writer that doesn't believe in retconning at all, there are mentions of history and stories that happened prior to the reboot when it comes to Damian (like his partnering with Dick Grayson when they were Batman & Robin) Would I have to 'headcanon' his newer character development with Bruce (since he never really gets the opportunity to 'bond' to him pre-reboot like he does in New 52) but mention that I'm referencing the new 52 for this canon?
I just want to make sure since comic book characters are tricky when it comes to consistency of canon.
And to ask about DC characters in general. How would you deal with one of the characters that got their whole back story changed? (ie. Tim Drake who went from being a past Robin to never having been a Robin ever- except for some stories where suddenly he's a Robin again? See how confusing this can be?)
