Echo Requests (retired)



Please fill out this form when requesting an Echo, then post it to this entry. The request will be dealt with as soon as possible.

When requesting an Echo induced by a past-life parallel/recurrence, please demonstrate clearly the similarity between the events, as well as the relation between the events and what is returned.

As of September 2013, Tier 2 Echoes can be granted once a month per character. Take care to specify the limitations and/or level of detail to the Echo requested! If you are unsure, suggestions will be gladly offered.

Reason for Echo: What caused the Echo, whether it be by a plot-related trigger or a canon recurrence. For the latter, this must be unusual enough to have been the first time the character has encountered it within Locke City, and strongly resemble a specific event from canon. Picking up a jug of milk from the store will not cause an Echo if it isn't any different than the times the character has done it before.
Type and tier: Physical change, power/ability, mental/memory, or item/creature. Tier 1 are the regular Echoes, and are typically a single memory/ability/item/etc. Tier 2 are essentially two regular Echoes rolled into one, such as an item and a memory or ability associated with it, or two directly-related memories, or so on. Currently only one Tier 2 Echo is allowed per month, so please be sure to note them somehow on your info posts.
What is returned: In the case of canon recurrences, these must be directly related to what has caused the Echo. Stronger recurrences = stronger Echoes.

Reason for Echo: Canon parallel: the incredibly unsettling feeling of being absolutely certain that your instincts are telling you that something's wrong and there's someone, but not knowing where it's coming from, what it means, or what to do about it (from Xander stalking Nick via shadows in this log.)
Type and tier: Ability | Tier 1
What is returned: The partial return of his "Grimmstincts" - namely, he'll be an exceptional judge of character (mostly on whether he can trust someone or not, which will lead to him becoming more easily able to trust people when instinct says they're trustworthy), and will be able to have an incredibly vague sense of 'trouble' when he's walking into a dangerous situation or when someone/something means him harm.

Reason for Echo: Canon Parallel, wearing a shoulder holster.

What is returned: Trying on a shoulder holster at the gun shop, Jin echoes back not only his Morphin Blaster, though it can't be used to transform or shoot quite yet, but also a curious memory of watching his daughter Yoko get married. (A fake marriage from ep 37 of Go-Busters, a scene in which he was wearing a shoulder holster.)

The thought was that they were a small group of people he's really starting to care about, like Gale begins to care for in canon despite his lack of emotions. Gale sees himself as the protector (especially in the second game,) the voice of reason because the main character doesn't speak, etc.

What is returned: She gets a hint of a memory that she's consumed seaweed before, but in another fashion... but more importantly, she gets the exact memory of her last dying moments, during which Abbot Durral fed her some fish.

Reason for Echo: I JUST REMEMBERED THAT HE SHOULD PROBABLY GET AN ECHO FOR LOSING/REGAINING HIS MEMORIES

What is returned: Two sheets of paper from what would have been a very small journal. The first sheet reads "Thank Naminé". The second reads "Their hurting will be mended when you return to end it." (JIMINY'S JOURNAL YEAAAAH)

Reason for Echo: Discussion with Hannah about losing each other or someone in their family.

What is returned: The memory of being inside a cell and being told someone important to him was killed. He wouldn't specifically remember exactly who is it was or why he was confined. Just that he felt tremendous anger, sadness and helplessness over the loss.

Reason for Echo: Encounter with the Blood Keys, currently being plotted out with Wheatley.
Type and tier: Tier 2, Item/Memory
What is returned: The portal gun, but I'm asking early in order to clear with the mods whether there need to be any restrictions on it. Its range would of course be limited to within Locke City (no moon shots!), and I'm open to shrinking it further, or even giving her a partially disabled (one-color) version. Since she's not getting the Long Fall Boots for a while, there's an inherent limit on what she can do with it without hurting herself in any case.

If it doesn't count as a Tier 2 by itself, she'll also have the distinct sense this isn't the first time she's escaped from somewhere alongside Wheatley.

Reason for Echo: Plot Echo due to encountering the Blood Keys while walking home from the Arcade late at night (I don't think I'm going to play it out, but she was wearing a thick hooded coat and a scarf).

What is returned: Reimu's Signature Spell Card (the one she uses as a bomb when playable), Spirit Sign "Fantasy Seal."

She doesn't have her full divine power back, so probably not quite as strong as it is normally, but even at full power it's probably less powerful than Master Spark, but it's more directed and thus more effective (and less likely to cause property damage).

The card involves creating seven multicolored balls of light that chase enemies around the screen.
