Echo Requests (retired)



Please fill out this form when requesting an Echo, then post it to this entry. The request will be dealt with as soon as possible.

When requesting an Echo induced by a past-life parallel/recurrence, please demonstrate clearly the similarity between the events, as well as the relation between the events and what is returned.

As of September 2013, Tier 2 Echoes can be granted once a month per character. Take care to specify the limitations and/or level of detail to the Echo requested! If you are unsure, suggestions will be gladly offered.

Reason for Echo: What caused the Echo, whether it be by a plot-related trigger or a canon recurrence. For the latter, this must be unusual enough to have been the first time the character has encountered it within Locke City, and strongly resemble a specific event from canon. Picking up a jug of milk from the store will not cause an Echo if it isn't any different than the times the character has done it before.
Type and tier: Physical change, power/ability, mental/memory, or item/creature. Tier 1 are the regular Echoes, and are typically a single memory/ability/item/etc. Tier 2 are essentially two regular Echoes rolled into one, such as an item and a memory or ability associated with it, or two directly-related memories, or so on. Currently only one Tier 2 Echo is allowed per month, so please be sure to note them somehow on your info posts.
What is returned: In the case of canon recurrences, these must be directly related to what has caused the Echo. Stronger recurrences = stronger Echoes.

Reason for Echo: After escaping Skyler, who he was pretty damn sure was going to kill him, Neku felt a rush of just being grateful that he was alive. After three weeks of being dead, you really understand that feeling.
Type and tier: Memory, tier 1
What is returned: Knowledge that he made it out of the Game alive and with the city intact. He has no idea why that second one is important.

What is returned: The memory of saying "A person's a person, no matter how screwed up they are" and some of the context for it--namely that he was trying to calm someone down because if he didn't, all of Manhattan would be nuked.

What is returned: The exact same thought about Tyrol; the further away you go, the more likely you wouldn't be drawn into all the problems being caused there.

Reason for Echo: Blood Key encounter (she works in a coffe shop. all kinds of people come there. Or does the encounter have to be logged, then I can set something up?)
Type and tier: Tier 2 (I assume 2 is necessary here?), ability

What is returned: The ability to not be killed by anything. Nations can walk around with multiple arrows or huge semi-blunt objects stuck in their heads, they can survive falling into an icey lake and being unable to breathe for a good while or jumping out of an airplane at high altitude without a parachute, they do not die even when their raison d'Etre vanishes. It is reasonable to say that they just cannot be killed or die, even/especially when taking into account the nature of Hetalia as a (mainly) slapstick/comedy series.

She will still age like a normal human, though, so it's not full nation immortality yet - and wounds will heal on a normal human speed still and affect her (aside from the not dying thing) exactly like they would normally affect a human, because she has no connection to her actual nationhood yet (injuries seem to share the nature of sickness with nations insofar as healing rates and how much wounds affect them are based on economical/political strength.).

(we haven't yet been given any canonical clues to wtf happens if a nation gets beheaded, so that. just won't happen.)



Reason for Echo: Seeing Åsa shoot with a rifle like a pro
Type and tier: Memory, tier 1
What is returned: Just the knowledge that she has seen that cute blond shortie from her former life fight many times before, and that that person was super capable and impressive when it came to that.

Reason for Echo: Running into the underground snakes in Blaine's rescue mission
Type and tier: Double memory, type two
What is returned: The first memory is of the spiders in Mirkwood and Tauriel saving Kili from them (and calling him a dwarf) before arresting him. The second is of Tauriel healing Kili from the Morgul arrow's poison at the end of DoS (and what he says before passing out). They're from completely different ends of a movie, but they both involve Tauriel saving him and his crush on her.

Character: Jacuzzi Splot
Reason for Echo: Canon recurrence; Jacuzzi getting mugged in a back alley
Type and tier: Memory/Tier 1
What is returned: Memory of the time Jacuzzi was mugged by Russo goons. This is important because it includes a lot of information:
1) Jacuzzi is the co-leader of a gang of bootleggers in the prohibition era
2) Jacuzzi's friends died and his response was to ransack a shit ton of speakeasies run by the Russo family.
3) It's a moment where canon Jacuzzi gets legitimately angry and is actually confident about something. A sense of being solid and for once strong, something reincarnated Jacuzzi has never experienced. Something to be passionate about.
4) It's a brief introduction to his own past life's gang. Nice, Donny, the entire group that supports and follows him (moreso Nice for more than a few of them, but Nice is always at his back so). It will show him someone believing in him and caring about him--again, something reincarnated Jacuzzi has never experienced.
5) Also his past life's girlfriend was definitely sexually attracted to explosives.

The scene lasts only a few minutes but it's full of information and emotions for the kid.

Reason for Echo 1: Trying on an overly large green shirt + belt and looking at himself in a mirror.
Type and tier: Tier 1 Item
What is returned: His Kokiri outfit! Comes with hat, belt, boots, and gauntlets, but neither the boots or the gauntlets have any special powers as of yet. This outfit with transform with him when he grows into an adult. See info post for how this outfit works with his inventory screen.


Reason for Echo 2: Spending time with Cinderella and watching her run towards him.
Type and tier: Tier 1 memory
What is returned: Memories of the flight from Hyrule Castle.


Reason for Echo 3: Watching the Sword in the Stone with Phillip.
Type and tier: Tier 1 Item
What is returned: The master sword and it's pedestal. The pedestal is in his back yard, obscured from view by a fence on one side and a thick row of bushes on the other. Just like in the game, taking the sword out and putting it back will cause him to change from an adult to a child.


Reason for Echo 4: Pulling the master sword from its pedestal and being unable to wield the sword because it was too heavy.
Type and tier: Tier 2 Physical/Memory
What is returned: His memories of turning into an adult. (Note: He only remembers to about 6:15 in the video. He has not yet met Sheik.) And his 17 year old body. You can't see it in the pictures, but his hair in the back has also gotten longer. He has a short pony tail hidden under that hat of his.

These will hit one at a time over the last few/next days, then on Sunday night he'll finally go Adult. His adult journal is [personal profile] songoftimaendtimeagain so I guess I will have to join all the communities with that too.

Reason for Echo: Snake Statue Boss Battle !!!!
Type and tier: Tier 2 Item/Ability
What is returned: His ability to do random acrobatic combat stunts (infinite rolling, backflips, rolling up stairs etc) and the Hylian Sheild.
