Please fill out this form when requesting an Echo, then post it to this entry. The request will be dealt with as soon as possible.

When requesting an Echo induced by a past-life parallel/recurrence, please demonstrate clearly the similarity between the events, as well as the relation between the events and what is returned.

As of September 2013, Tier 2 Echoes can be granted once a month per character. Take care to specify the limitations and/or level of detail to the Echo requested! If you are unsure, suggestions will be gladly offered.

Reason for Echo: What caused the Echo, whether it be by a plot-related trigger or a canon recurrence. For the latter, this must be unusual enough to have been the first time the character has encountered it within Locke City, and strongly resemble a specific event from canon. Picking up a jug of milk from the store will not cause an Echo if it isn't any different than the times the character has done it before.
Type and tier: Physical change, power/ability, mental/memory, or item/creature. Tier 1 are the regular Echoes, and are typically a single memory/ability/item/etc. Tier 2 are essentially two regular Echoes rolled into one, such as an item and a memory or ability associated with it, or two directly-related memories, or so on. Currently only one Tier 2 Echo is allowed per month, so please be sure to note them somehow on your info posts.
What is returned: In the case of canon recurrences, these must be directly related to what has caused the Echo. Stronger recurrences = stronger Echoes.

I can appreciate the explanations provided here, but I'm still really, really confused re: a lot of this terminology. So is Luca basically turning into a Reyvateil with this set of Echoes, and you want the beginnings of her magical abilities?

I'm also confused about that last one because it seems like an... Echo within an Echo, which is not really how the system is intended to work, so if you could expand upon this in more laymen terms, that would be great.

What exactly is/are Dying Will Flames, might I ask? First Echo is approved, I'm just curious about the ability involved in the second.

I apologize for the terminology, this canon is awful about it and the wiki actually makes things worse IMO, which is why I've avoided linking it (I thought I had it down from canon then I looked at the wiki and was like THREE PAGES ABOUT WAVE THEORY, ARE YOU KIDDING ME...). But yeah, Reyvateils are magic-users in her canon, and they're wired a little differently than normal humans because of it. So basically what I'm shooting for is the internal changes that'd let her connect to a power source (which she'll still need from elsewhere) to handle that magic properly. (And the spells themselves are separate Echoes.) But those internal changes would also mean she's got the side effect that comes with it, of needing a Diquility crystal every few months to keep from burning herself out.

If that last one doesn't work, that's cool, I can try to find a way to work around that - mostly I just wanted to make sure she'd actually be able to make the mental leap somehow to "maybe I should do something with that crystal so I don't die." I think I can figure a way to get her through the mental gymnastics to go "weird shit, better try something????" without it.

You can leave this as is! Just send me a ping (this is Deus speaking, so either to this account or one of my forms of contact) when it actually happens, and I'll stamp an approval here. The only reason I'm not approving it now is because plot threads can sometimes go unexpected directions, so it's just to save us both the trouble of potential retconning later down the road.

And yeah, having an Echo caused by another Echo is getting a little more complicated than it needs to be, so I'd prefer a workaround for that (or hell, even just handwaving, in this case). Otherwise, the first two Echoes are fine for approval, and you can update your info post accordingly.

Here is a wiki link, but the short version is that they reflect resolution, manifesting in different types according to personality -- Hibari's is suited to propagation. The strength of the flame directly corresponds to the strength of a person's resolution.

They can't be manifested without using special rings. The flames are able to be used in their pure form, but they're usually used as an energy source to power up weapons.

Is this a retroactive Echo or are you only just getting to that point? I remember Chris (Starscream) posting this up awhile ago, so if you could link me to where this is/was happening, that would be helpful. Unless I'm thinking of something entirely different, but yeah, a link would still be great.
