Echo Requests (retired)

Please fill out this form when requesting an Echo, then post it to this entry. The request will be dealt with as soon as possible.

When requesting an Echo induced by a past-life parallel/recurrence, please demonstrate clearly the similarity between the events, as well as the relation between the events and what is returned.

As of September 2013, Tier 2 Echoes can be granted once a month per character. Take care to specify the limitations and/or level of detail to the Echo requested! If you are unsure, suggestions will be gladly offered.

Reason for Echo: What caused the Echo, whether it be by a plot-related trigger or a canon recurrence. For the latter, this must be unusual enough to have been the first time the character has encountered it within Locke City, and strongly resemble a specific event from canon. Picking up a jug of milk from the store will not cause an Echo if it isn't any different than the times the character has done it before.
Type and tier: Physical change, power/ability, mental/memory, or item/creature. Tier 1 are the regular Echoes, and are typically a single memory/ability/item/etc. Tier 2 are essentially two regular Echoes rolled into one, such as an item and a memory or ability associated with it, or two directly-related memories, or so on. Currently only one Tier 2 Echo is allowed per month, so please be sure to note them somehow on your info posts.
What is returned: In the case of canon recurrences, these must be directly related to what has caused the Echo. Stronger recurrences = stronger Echoes.

Player: Krystal
Character: Mamoru/Ichigo
Reason for Echo: Talking to Bluefur/Regina
What is returned: A memory of being in a healing hot spring with a talking cat named Yoruichi. He has no context for the memory and does not remember that the cat turns into a hot naked chick.

Player: Nishi
Character: Tadashi/Kimishima
Reason for Echo: Holing up to hide in the attack after the Sage
What is returned: Memories of the failure of the rebellion, having hidden with his jeep and two small Native Alter children, the only two survivors/uncaptured people besides himself.

Nothing gained besides that.

Hmm. I can give the official numbers, but I don't know how much they'll aid comprehension. Still, let's start from there.

Golden Sun has basically two types of party members, which the fans tend to call warriors and mages. Felix is a warrior-type, meaning he has more HP and less MP. (His other stats are also weighted toward physical rather than magical combat, but they're less relevant to this question.) At the beginning of the game, he's level 5, with 79 HP and 27 MP. Cure costs 3 MP, so in the beginning Felix can cast it nine times before running out (though casting other things and restoring MP by walking around or sleeping can adjust that number). The official description says it restores 70 HP, a bit less than his maximum at that point but more than the mage-types who start with him have. In the first game Isaac, who is functionally equivalent to Felix, starts with Cure at level 1, with 41 HP and 18 MP. (To give you a better idea of the advancement, at level 30 Felix has about 300 HP and 90 MP, unmodified. At this point he also has the two upgraded forms of Cure.) Cure specifically does not work on "downed" characters (those who have been reduced to 0 HP) and only affects one character at a time.

Does that help? I can try to dig up more facts and/or go into headcanon if you want.

Because I overreached last time I did one of these and didn't end up updating/using two of the three anyway, I'm starting over.

Player: Jill
Character: Becky Samson
Reason for Echo: Vermedi sighting back on the 30th
What is returned: A little bit more of her gun accuracy - not as good of a shot as she used to be, but better aim than coming in untrained.

Reason for Echo: watching the Sage video on the network
What is returned: Her Tesla! ...And that's it; if it has any charge to it at all, she'll promptly waste it trying to figure out what the damn thing does.

Sure thing! I thought I'd wiki linked exactly what they could do in the request; clearly the power of derp was with me there. (Sorry about that!) Here is a description of what it does at the Kamen Rider Wiki. Basically, the Tako Candroid can fly/hover by spinning its tentacles sort of like a helicopter propeller. Together, they're capable of building ramps, bungee cords, or trampolines. Alone, about all they can do is to squirt ink at a potential enemy.

To build them, he'd need robotics manufacturing equipment or a laboratory devoted to the development of such things, along with the necessary material and such for parts. He currently has no way of accessing any of this, so knowing how to build them is more of a frustrating bit of knowledge rather than anything he can actually act upon. (He could maybe mock one up with an Erector set or something, but it wouldn't really function properly.) There's also no way he'd be able to manufacture enough to do the whole road-building/trampoline-forming thing unless he hooked up with someone that had resources that rivaled Kougami's in-canon.

Player: Kalyn
Character: Souji
Reason for Echo: In the mines with the sage etc etc
What is returned: 1. His sword
2. Rasetsu bloodlust. As in, he will get the bloodlust and need to drink blood to abate the pain.
iaijutsu: (Estrogen.)

[personal profile] iaijutsu 2013-06-19 12:49 am (UTC)(link)
Player: Sam
Character: Hajime Saitou
Reason for Echo: Meeting the Sage in the mines + the Vermedi attack afterwards. (Not yet tagged in, because I need to check one of these first!)
What is returned: 1. His sword. It's got no supernatural properties or anything, it's just a nicely made katana. This I would like him to actually get back right there on the spot for the fight, if that's possible!
2. His trademark scarf. Completely useless. This can just pop up in his closet at home.

[personal profile] testsonseashells 2013-06-19 05:39 am (UTC)(link)
Player: G-man
Character: Mordin Solus
Reason for Echo: Vermedi + bat attack in the mine
What is returned: Omni-tool, with only medical functions. No medigel, but scanning and diagnostic technology and things of that nature.
angelskills: (« bwah??)

[personal profile] angelskills 2013-06-19 05:53 am (UTC)(link)
Player: Kero
Character: Colette Brunel
Reason for Echo: The Mines/Sage + the Vermedi!
What is returned:

1. The sense of duty she had to "save" and "protect" everyone when she was The Chosen One. So basically, intense feelings about helping other people as well of a serious decrease in self-preservation.

2. Increased endurance, above average for a normal person.

[personal profile] professorwolf 2013-06-19 02:18 pm (UTC)(link)
Player: Gail
Character: Lyall
Reason for Echo: Bakura speaking ancient Egyptian at him. In canon, Lyall's boyfriend spent a lot of time in Egypt, and Lyall did a lot of studying of Egypt because of both said boyfriend and because of the Godbreaker plague there, not to mention that werewolves supposedly ruled Egypt for a lot of the time of the pharaohs. His whole pack spent time there as a recurring stop on its military tours. He knows what a number of dialects/time periods of the language sounds like.
What is returned: The knowledge of what Egyptian in various time periods from 1600s to 1800s sounds like, though not what any of it means beyond maybe three to five words in not-quite-modern Egyptian, all touristy ("port", "ship", "how much", "privy?").
skickpowered: (this was completely unavoidable)

[personal profile] skickpowered 2013-06-19 02:28 pm (UTC)(link)
Player: MC
Character: Al Amagi
Reason for Echo: This time it's something about beating up Vermedi and mutant bats.
What is returned: One of his own angel tribe's abilities, which is their sensitivity to sound. He could pick up a single disruptive noise from miles away. One could say he has super hearing, but this is because his tribe is naturally sensitive to the wind and its movements. So, whatever the wind picks up, they can pick it up as well.

For now, he won't have much control on this ability yet. And he'll gain headaches from loud and terrible noises at the moment. /o\

Player: Aki
Character: The Psiioniic (Davin Carter)
Reason for Echo: Okay, not sure if this will fly, but figure I should ask. He typed in yellow on accident and since you know, crazy troll text. I was wondering if that could trigger his typing quirk return.
What is returned: typiing liike thiis. you know, when he iisn't thiinkiing because obviiously no one iin theiir riight miind would actually type thiis way two strangers.
