Echo Requests (retired)



Please fill out this form when requesting an Echo, then post it to this entry. The request will be dealt with as soon as possible.

When requesting an Echo induced by a past-life parallel/recurrence, please demonstrate clearly the similarity between the events, as well as the relation between the events and what is returned.

As of September 2013, Tier 2 Echoes can be granted once a month per character. Take care to specify the limitations and/or level of detail to the Echo requested! If you are unsure, suggestions will be gladly offered.

Reason for Echo: What caused the Echo, whether it be by a plot-related trigger or a canon recurrence. For the latter, this must be unusual enough to have been the first time the character has encountered it within Locke City, and strongly resemble a specific event from canon. Picking up a jug of milk from the store will not cause an Echo if it isn't any different than the times the character has done it before.
Type and tier: Physical change, power/ability, mental/memory, or item/creature. Tier 1 are the regular Echoes, and are typically a single memory/ability/item/etc. Tier 2 are essentially two regular Echoes rolled into one, such as an item and a memory or ability associated with it, or two directly-related memories, or so on. Currently only one Tier 2 Echo is allowed per month, so please be sure to note them somehow on your info posts.
What is returned: In the case of canon recurrences, these must be directly related to what has caused the Echo. Stronger recurrences = stronger Echoes.

Reason for Echo: going for that snake statue because what it not visiting shady areas.
What is returned: his newtype ability, though it'll be faint at first. for the immediate future it'll be more like vague precognitive empathy. which is not very useful at all, but hey, feels gotta feel. if approved, i'll make a permissions post for it.

and a question about it if it is approved: once he has it, is it possible for it to develop on its own as it did in canon without further echoes? it's a pretty useless latent skill to attempt to 'power boost' outside of a robot, since all the cool stuff like soul-projecting and hauling gigantic objects into orbit are kind of contingent on that.

(I HOPE AN EDIT IS OKAY FOR ANOTHER REQUEST THAT I'D ACTUALLY LIKE TO HAPPEN BEFORE THE ABOVE...)

Reason for Echo: anthony's story bears a striking resemblance to the general logistics of the hunt for laplace's box--a mysterious artifact, a god who can possess things/bestow powers, a person being killed for hiding it.
What is returned: the memory of laplace's box. not of what it is since that hasn't been revealed in canon yet, but just that it existed and it was something he was on the chase for.

Newtype Echo approved, with the stipulation that its acceleration be handled very gradually. So long as you're reasonable with the rate it develops, I don't see a need to request an Echo for every instance of said development. You might want to check with a mod just in case when you push it along, though. Might I suggest the one that is fond of excessive italics, strikethrough, and giant robots?

And second (or would that be first?) Echo is also approved! Enjoy your Box, Banagher. Except not really.

Please remember to update your info post, and that permissions post couldn't hurt, either, so go for it.
