Echo Requests (retired)
Please fill out this form when requesting an Echo, then post it to this entry. The request will be dealt with as soon as possible.
When requesting an Echo induced by a past-life parallel/recurrence, please demonstrate clearly the similarity between the events, as well as the relation between the events and what is returned.
As of September 2013, Tier 2 Echoes can be granted once a month per character. Take care to specify the limitations and/or level of detail to the Echo requested! If you are unsure, suggestions will be gladly offered.
Reason for Echo: What caused the Echo, whether it be by a plot-related trigger or a canon recurrence. For the latter, this must be unusual enough to have been the first time the character has encountered it within Locke City, and strongly resemble a specific event from canon. Picking up a jug of milk from the store will not cause an Echo if it isn't any different than the times the character has done it before.
Type and tier: Physical change, power/ability, mental/memory, or item/creature. Tier 1 are the regular Echoes, and are typically a single memory/ability/item/etc. Tier 2 are essentially two regular Echoes rolled into one, such as an item and a memory or ability associated with it, or two directly-related memories, or so on. Currently only one Tier 2 Echo is allowed per month, so please be sure to note them somehow on your info posts.
What is returned: In the case of canon recurrences, these must be directly related to what has caused the Echo. Stronger recurrences = stronger Echoes.

Reason for Echo: Blood Key plot echo
Type and tier: Ability | Tier 1
What is returned: SHOUNEN DURABILITY. He'll bruise where others break, recover more quickly from blunt force trauma, and will have a surprising amount of resilience. Basically, it is the uncanny ability to only be seriously injured when it is suitably dramatic or the plot requires it.
Reason for Echo: Teaming up with Annie to save Bakura from some Blood Keys as part of the magical girl rescue squad. Dramatic entrances and nick-of-time rescues were his life, you do not even know.
Type and tier: Memory | Tier 1
What is returned: He will remember that he called himself "The Hero of Love, Golden Piano Player Raiel" (because this is how he always introduced himself during these dramatic rescues).
Reason for Echo: During the same event as above, he is going to be...providing the dramatic soundtrack by way of speakers and an iPod. He, uh. Fights by playing music, in canon. So bursting into a fight and giving it a soundtrack, well, that's pretty much what he always does.
Type and tier: Ability | Tier 1
What is returned: His Magic Music ability.
How it works:
1) Magic music requires you to know and understand the context of the song you're playing in order for it to have any effect.
2) You must physically play it, on an instrument, with that context in mind.
3) The effect ends if you stop playing, except with summons where they can persist as long as you keep the song playing in your head.
Russel will be regaining each of his summons as a separate Echo, so his summoning music won't work yet. Likewise, he will not be regaining his marionette control ability yet, either. This Echo will be just the basics of magic music.
Those basics are essentially bard skills. The music plays on the emotions of those listening, and uses resonant emotions to buff or debuff the listener(s). The effect is easily resisted if the song's meaning does not resonate with the listener, and people who cannot physically hear the music will not be affected at all. It also only works in person (there is likely a psychic element to it?) so recordings or any kind of audio transmission will kill the magic aspect.
It can also just Make People Feel Stuff, but again, there needs to be some kind of foothold of emotional resonance or it'll fall flat. (I realize this is basically emotional godmoding but I will be asking people for permission first.)
The biggest limitation on this right now is that RUSSEL CAN'T PLAY ANY INSTRUMENTS AND HE IS COMPLETELY TONE DEAF. So until he regains his piano playing ability, this skill is useless.
