Echo Requests (retired)

Please fill out this form when requesting an Echo, then post it to this entry. The request will be dealt with as soon as possible.

When requesting an Echo induced by a past-life parallel/recurrence, please demonstrate clearly the similarity between the events, as well as the relation between the events and what is returned.

As of September 2013, Tier 2 Echoes can be granted once a month per character. Take care to specify the limitations and/or level of detail to the Echo requested! If you are unsure, suggestions will be gladly offered.

Reason for Echo: What caused the Echo, whether it be by a plot-related trigger or a canon recurrence. For the latter, this must be unusual enough to have been the first time the character has encountered it within Locke City, and strongly resemble a specific event from canon. Picking up a jug of milk from the store will not cause an Echo if it isn't any different than the times the character has done it before.
Type and tier: Physical change, power/ability, mental/memory, or item/creature. Tier 1 are the regular Echoes, and are typically a single memory/ability/item/etc. Tier 2 are essentially two regular Echoes rolled into one, such as an item and a memory or ability associated with it, or two directly-related memories, or so on. Currently only one Tier 2 Echo is allowed per month, so please be sure to note them somehow on your info posts.
What is returned: In the case of canon recurrences, these must be directly related to what has caused the Echo. Stronger recurrences = stronger Echoes.

Player: Kira
Character: Thorir /Thorin Oakenshield

Reason for Echo: Filbert being audibly hungry while they prepare food echoed with similar occasions when Kíli and Fíli were younger, before Durin's folk had recovered economically past the point of harsh winters or bad harvests in the area endangering their livelihood.
Type and tier: Mental 1
What is returned: The memory of going hungry and even starving, and of those that he cares about and those that he should take care of going hungry/starving as well, along with a feeling of anger towards the cause of this (though he doesn't know what the cause is) and guilt coupled with the wish to fix the situation.

Reason for Echo: Talking to Torin, a sentient, talking bird
Type and tier: Mental 2 (January)
What is returned: Common knowledge about the eagles: their size and alignment (free/good/allies) and that they could speak. Secondly, the memory of hearing hundreds or thousands of voices shouting "The eagles! The eagles are coming!" and halting in the middle of a battlefield, in the middle of a battle, to look up at the sky (though he won't know anything about the battle itself or remember details about those around him, or his own weaponry/armor, etc)

Reason for Echo: Killian telling him about the death of his mother: She was killed.
Type and tier: Mental 1
What is returned: (headcanon!) His mother's death, without any context to explain what he just saw: Running on a high bridge without a rail with two other children near him, a voice behind urging them to run; the voice staying behind but him and the other two continuing to run until they enter a tunnel, where he turns around. His vision zooms in on a bearded adult behind them who has fallen and is just getting up again. The memory of two pairs of hands grabbing on to him as he screams something in a language that he doesn't understand, and fire blasting over the bridge, burning those on it alive, among them said bearded adult.

Character: Ymir / Blaine Frost

Reason for Echo: The term "armored titan".
Type and tier: Mental 1
What is returned: The visual memory of jumping down towards the armored titan, who had Bertholdt and Eren in the papoose on it's back, while carrying something that moved in her mouth.

Reason for Echo: Seeing Ryan's half-titan body for the first time.
Type and tier: Physical, tier 2
What is returned: Her titan body up to her neck, but not above the neckline of an average T-shirt. Only the physical looks and internal consequences, notably neither the strength of it nor the ability to live without food. Secondly, she'll start to grow back to her titan height, at the rate of a centimetre per day. Whenever she regains the ability to shift, her human body will be back to her normal height, but the titan body will keep growing at that rate until it has reached it's original height of roughly 7 metres.
