Please fill out this form when requesting an Echo, then post it to this entry. The request will be dealt with as soon as possible.

When requesting an Echo induced by a past-life parallel/recurrence, please demonstrate clearly the similarity between the events, as well as the relation between the events and what is returned.

As of September 2013, Tier 2 Echoes can be granted once a month per character. Take care to specify the limitations and/or level of detail to the Echo requested! If you are unsure, suggestions will be gladly offered.

Reason for Echo: What caused the Echo, whether it be by a plot-related trigger or a canon recurrence. For the latter, this must be unusual enough to have been the first time the character has encountered it within Locke City, and strongly resemble a specific event from canon. Picking up a jug of milk from the store will not cause an Echo if it isn't any different than the times the character has done it before.
Type and tier: Physical change, power/ability, mental/memory, or item/creature. Tier 1 are the regular Echoes, and are typically a single memory/ability/item/etc. Tier 2 are essentially two regular Echoes rolled into one, such as an item and a memory or ability associated with it, or two directly-related memories, or so on. Currently only one Tier 2 Echo is allowed per month, so please be sure to note them somehow on your info posts.
What is returned: In the case of canon recurrences, these must be directly related to what has caused the Echo. Stronger recurrences = stronger Echoes.

After giving this some thought, I'm going to allow this, but I'd ask two things:

1) That Diabound not be summoned constantly, so we don't have the ordinary populace freaking out at GIANT DEMON SNAKE THING;
2) That Diabound not be granted any further abilities for a while, given its capability to Wreck Things on a considerable scale. Like, a while a while.

If you're down with both of these stipulations, then Echo approved.

Yeah, no worries on the first one there, Bakura kinda doesn't want people finding out about him anyway. He'll likely only come out when there's crazy stuff going on anyway or where Bakura's pretty sure he won't be seen.

As for the second, can I offer instead that he'll just stay intangible for a very long period? Since most of his abilities come in the stealth department, rather than the wrecking things department, and I really would like Bakura to be able to gain some useful skills to be able to help out the group. [mainly the invisibility and the going through walls thing] Kinda concerned he's going to wind up being the load if all abilities are off limits.

I'm not saying all abilities are off limits period (we're not permanerfing him), but Diabound would be the very first Really Big Summony Thing we have in-game, by my count. There's a lot of room to get reckless with that, and while it's not that I don't trust you, again, we do need to keep all characters on a relatively similar playing field here. I can understand wanting to get Bakura more involved, but he was... well, a noncombatant within his own canon, and it's not as if characters sans fighting abilities can't get a piece of the plotty action, too.

Therefore, I'm still going to have to say no on granting it any additional abilities for the time being beyond just showing up. Because... going through walls is still kinda gonna cause some panic, which ties into the first concern. This would make ten Echoes for you with these two included, so I believe this is a reasonable compromise.

That's why keeping him intangible so he can't do any damage which negates any possibility for recklessness in game.

I'm also a little confused where you're saying two from? I'm not requesting any additional now, just that the option for Diabound to be able to be invisible not be put off limits for the long term (since I assume "a while a while" is long term) since with him only being able to be summoned, and still being visible, he's a detriment more than anything else since any time he was summoned there would be the huge risk of being found out and it putting Bakura in danger.

And to clarify, at this point, Bakura isn't gaining any of Diabound's abilities, just the ability to summon him. Diabound being intangible is to prevent things from being damaged or broken due to Diabound's size and to keep the echo from being a big thing. As he is being requested by this echo, Diabound would be pretty useless, and I really would like him not to be locked into uselessness for an extended period of time.

[and also as a side note: Yami Bakura and Thief King Bakura are major combatants so to imply that since this Bakura more closely resembles the non combatant version of the three at this time that he needs to stay in that role is a little off putting.]

After some discussion, we've come up with the compromise of a Diabound that's summonable with the abilities you desire, but is only able to exist for a short period of time (say, a few minutes, with a considerable cooldown period in between summons).

Would this work?

That's fine! I wasn't expecting him to be able to be out a long period of time to start with anyway, so that's totally fine.

So just to make sure I have it clear: With this echo, he can be summoned for short bursts (with long cool downs between), intangible so he doesn't knock down the walls just by existing. With a later echo, can gain the ability to turn invisible. Other abilities [such as being able to extend that intangibility and invisibility to Bakura as they were in canon] will be accessible via other echoes after a longer wait time (like a month or so.)

That is correct. The time limit and stipulations on Diabound will likely remain for a while so other characters can get up to speed with their abilities. Other than the invisibility Echo, this is also going to be it for Bakura's major Echoes until that longer period you mentioned -- that is one thing we are going to insist on here, for the sake of fairness.
