Echo Requests

Please fill out this form when requesting an Echo, then post it to this entry. The request will be dealt with as soon as possible.

When requesting an Echo induced by a past-life parallel/recurrence, please demonstrate clearly the similarity between the events, as well as the relation between the events and what is returned.

As of September 2013, Tier 2 Echoes can be granted once a month per character. Take care to specify the limitations and/or level of detail to the Echo requested! If you are unsure, suggestions will be gladly offered.

As of November 2014, Characters who have had their echoes for over a year can cause echoes in other people This is involuntary, cannot be controlled by either character and doesn't require a recurrence. The receiving character must have 15 echoes or less; they must be physically close to the other character; only tier 1 echoes can be caused that way; one cannot give themselves echoes. Both players must, of course, have consented to this oocly. A character can receive echoes through this mechanic no more than 10 times, and only up to 3 times from the same character. If requesting one of these echoes, please indicate the character from which the echo was received.

Reason for Echo: What caused the Echo, whether it be by a plot-related trigger, a person or a canon recurrence. For the latter, this must be unusual enough to have been the first time the character has encountered it within Locke City, and strongly resemble a specific event from canon. Picking up a jug of milk from the store will not cause an Echo if it isn't any different than the times the character has done it before.
Type and tier: Physical change, power/ability, mental/memory, or item/creature. Tier 1 are the regular Echoes, and are typically a single memory/ability/item/etc. Tier 2 are essentially two regular Echoes rolled into one, such as an item and a memory or ability associated with it, or two directly-related memories, or so on. Currently only one Tier 2 Echo is allowed per month, so please be sure to note them somehow on your info posts.
What is returned: In the case of canon recurrences, these must be directly related to what has caused the Echo. Stronger recurrences = stronger Echoes.

Player: Joysweeper
Character: Nat
Reason for Echo: Ghost wolpertinger
Type and tier: Tier 1, power
What is returned: Tash's (untrained) shield ability. She can in a pinch erect an invisible shield around herself. Nothing can pass through it and may in fact be pressed back, though a stronger psychic can tear it down. It only lasts a handful of seconds before collapsing, and it's tiring to produce, plus she can't do it at will.

Reason for Echo: Getting a pair of friendship bracelets with red stones in them in order to give one to her half-sister. Tash's mother had a pair of identical necklaces, red stone pendants, and gave one to Tash. Tash later charged it with the Force preparatory to building her lightsaber around it - it glows faintly and there's a bittersweet emotion attached, if you're sensitive.
Type and tier: Item, Tier 1
What is returned: Tash's pendant on its chain. Is the glow and feeling allowed?

Can she have a doppleganger? Her first echo was London Lights well before she introed, and idk what's happened with the swan but it was intact then. If not she can meet someone else's at some point for the first, and please disregard the second!
Reason for Echo: Doppleganger contact
Type and tier: Tier 1, physical
What is returned: The scars from a brain removal. They're across her scalp and a little ways down the back of her neck, well-healed and not obvious. As long as she doesn't get a buzz cut you need to be quite close to see them. Blows to the head may have more of an effect.

Reason for Echo: Seeing a copy of herself. Tash once stumbled upon an experimental cloning facility and had to handle many clones of herself, all with weirdly altered personalities.
Type and tier: Tier 1, memory
What is returned: Some of the end of book 11, Clones. Seeing the cloning apparatus, being concussed, meeting her weeping clone and the clone horde, fearing that she's one and deciding she isn't.

Player: Zae
Character: Walter
Reason for Echo: Lights over the Galapagos Islands
Type and tier: Tier 2, memory/physical
What is returned: Memory of the fight with Malus, the sixteenth colossus AND the associated Dormin chunk. BLAH BLAH STAMINA DEMON-NESS ALL THAT. BUT. This would make the piece he's getting from Avion the FINAL piece, so amending the previous request, if I can -- final piece causes the biggest physical changes, which include black sclera, horns, glowing eyes, and feeling like absolute garbage.

Reason for Echo: Doppel encounter
Type and tier: Tier 1, mental
What is returned: Knowledge of his past self's name.
oncedevil: (cold blooded)

two echoes!

Player: Jessica
Character: Anthony Sparado
Reason for Echo: Recurrence. Dante has a long time-honored tradition of waltzing willingly and knowingly into obvious traps. Because if you're going to end up there anyway might as well do it on your own terms? Cesar kidnapping Nathan then sending Tony and only Tony the message for the address is a pretty obvious trap.
Type and tier: Tier 1, mental... habit I guess?
What is returned: The willingness and confidence that goes with it to face that particular challenge head-on. Basically "oh, you've set a trap for me? Challenge accepted!" mentality. No direct memories linked to it, just the lack of hesitance.

Reason for Echo: Another recurrence, remember that traps thing? Well one just so happened to take place in a spooky abandoned church. Very similar to the one Cesar's summoning him to!
Type and tier: Tier 1, memory
What is returned: Speaking of traps, once upon a time a young Dante was summoned to a spooky old cathedral by a mysterious person unknown. There he spoke with the Hatter briefly, and then the floor collapsed. The memory will fade at the floor breaking out from under him part.

Reason for Echo: Another recurrence, Shou tossing Tony a stylish and specially tailored long leather coat, remarkably similar to the very kind his other wore at all times.
Type and tier: Tier 1, item.
What is returned: Dante's fashionable red coat, of course.

Player: Misty

Character: Near / Nathan Brooks
Reason for Echo: Being brought to a Catholic church by Cesar's doppelganger.
Type and tier: Tier 1, Memory
What is returned: Memory of a news report of a burning church, with the knowledge that Mello had died in there.

Character: Near / Nathan Brooks
Reason for Echo: Having a gun pointed to his head.
Type and tier: Tier 1, Memory
What is returned: The memory of Mello pointing a gun to the back of his head, shouting at him that he's not a tool for Near to use to solve his puzzles.

Character: Marina Santana
Reason for Echo: Meeting Jasmine's Doppelganger in person.
Type and tier: Power, Tier 1

Player: Zalein
Character: Cesar Sanches-Ortiz

Reason for Echo: Plot, lights over Christmas Island
Type and tier: Mental, Tier 1
What is returned: Cesar remembers the name 'Caesar Salazar', and his position when he worked for an organization called Providence. (Specifically, his position at sometime 3rd season.)

Reason for Echo: Plot, lights over Galapagos Island
Type and tier: Mental, Tier 1
What is returned: Memory: A disaster called The Event spread nanites across the world, and the nanites were bad news for the hosts.

Reason for Echo: Canon recurrence: Cesar and Tony kidnap someone Cesar thinks he cares about (Doppelganger!L) from a cafe in Germany. In canon he kidnaps someone he cares about. (This only happens once.)
Type and tier: Mental, Tier 1
What is returned: Cesar remembers his narrow escape from dying in The Event, and his first acts afterwards, which was the kidnapping.

Reason for Echo: First contact with a doppelganger
Type and tier: Mental and item, Tier 2 for March
What is returned: The memory that Canon!Cesar liked mango smoothies, and used to make them with a hyperelectromagnet
Item: The hyperelectromagnet. This item is said to be capable of disassembling a tank from a kilometer away, though we never see it actually do this.

Player: Airdra
Character: Hajime Aikawa
Reason for Echo: Pink lights over the Galapagos.
Type and tier: Memory, Tier 1
What is returned: Memory of the time Amane dragged him to an amusement park. That's it, that's the echo, just a silly fun memory of having a little kid dragging him out to have fun.

Reason for Echo: Pink lights over Tokyo.
Type and tier: Memory, Tier 1
What is returned: Memory of how Kenzaki nursed him back to health in a cabin in the middle of nowhere in the woods, despite Hajime's asserting that they were nothing but enemies.

Reason for Echo: Tokyo getting wrecked will be a bit of a canon parallel for him; he tried to the end of the world while near Tokyo in canon.
Type and tier: Memory, Tier 1.
What is returned: Basically, the memory of the last two episodes of his series (so huge spoiler warning for a ten-year-old TV series here, basically). He tried to destroy the world--despite not wanting to--and sort of lost control of all of his Undead powers. To make a long story short, he thinks he should be sealed, but Blade, Kazuma Kenzaki, insists on finding another way. The two fight and fight and fight until Kenzaki breaks it off. Kenzaki has fought so much using the dangerous power of Blade's King Form that he has turned himself into an Undead, restarted the Battle Royale, and allowed Hajime to keep his humanity at the price of Kenzaki's own.

Character: Arthur Curry
Reason for Echo: Pink lights over the Galapagos.
Type and tier: Ability, Tier 1.
What is returned: SUPERHERO COMBAT SKILLS. How to throw a punch, how to recover from a punch, that sort of thing. He's got the trident fighting skills down, but this will give him everything else, both in and out of the water.

Reason for Echo: Pink lights over Tokyo.
Type and tier: Ability, Tier 1
What is returned: Atlantean immunity to biological poisons and toxins. He's canonically shown to be immune to sea urchins and poison dart frogs, and it seems to be a thing for all Atlanteans, not just Aquaman. (In fact, they use sea urchin toxin to flavor their food!)

Reason for Echo: Aliens invading like this would be a pretty big canon recurrence for him.
Type and tier: Memory, Tier 1.
What is returned: Memory of Starro's invasion of Earth, mostly just that Earth was attacked by face-hugging starfish and that Starro was pretty much defeated in the end by C-list heroes. The memories will be pretty fuzzy and incomplete save for the end, mostly because Aquaman was under Starro's control for the vast majority of the time.

Character: Torin
Reason for Echo: Pink lights over the Galapagos.
Type and tier: Memory, Tier 2.
What is returned: Torin will be getting a very clear memory of his team as opposed to the fuzzier ones he's been operating with--names, faces, a basic little bit about them, as well as his feelings towards them--as well as the memory of the time his team essentially sung him back to life using the Kyoryugers' prayer song, which was when he knew for certain that they really loved him no matter what he was or what he'd done.

Reason for Echo: Pink lights over Tokyo.
Type and tier: Ability/item, Tier 2.
What is returned: He's already received Bragigas, his giant dinosaur robot, back at a tinier size. Bragigas will both grow to half size (which is still plenty large, given his full canon size) and gain the ability to transform into Bragi-Oh, his humanoid fighting form.

sorry again about so many echoes

[personal profile] wingsister 2015-04-06 01:56 am (UTC)(link)
Player: bii
Character: Areonwen/Sayvil/Savil Ashkevron
Reason for Echo: Actually examining her fancy Companion's saddle and seeing the SYVL on it. This will need to be done with help from a handed friend.
Type and tier: Tier 1, Memory
What is returned: Her name as a Companion: Sayvil.

Reason for Echo: Arthur Curry is going to be giving away his showgirl ex-girlfriend's possessions over the network. One of those possessions is a feather mask, which superficially resembles some of the Hawkbrother art that Savil Ashkevron had on her walls.
Type and tier: Tier 1, Memory.
What is returned: Knowledge of the Hawkbrothers in general and of k'Treva specifically, including her wingsister status with k'Treva. Any members of k'Treva itself would be names and vague impressions.

Reason for Echo: Arthur has to deliver the feather mask. He's also been in this game over a year, meaning that he can give people proximity echoes.
Type and tier: Tier 1, Memory (Arthur Proximity)
What is returned: The insipid yet earworm-y song "My Lady's Eyes", which she'll recognizes as her sister-in-law's favorite, despite not remembering said sister-in-law yet.

Reason for Echo: Being visited by her owner, Shou, now that he's back from Japan. Shou has been in the game since the start and can give echoes.
Type and tier: Tier 1, Memory (Shou Proximity)
What is returned: The memory of Tylendel Frelennye, Savil Ashkevron's pupil who she'd loved like a son and who'd committed suicide when his own Companion repudiated him.

Reason for Echo: Pink light in the Galapagos.
Type and tier: Tier 2, Ability/Knowlege. (Bonus Plot)
What is returned: Savil's Mage Gift (the ability to use magical energy for things) and a journeyman's knowledge of how exactly to use said Mage Gift. (Journeyman is the second-lowest mage rank, right after apprentice. In her canon, Savil achieved the highest rank, Adept, by the time she was middle-aged.)

Reason for Echo: Pink light over Tokyo.
Type and tier: Tier 2, Knowledge/Knowledge. (Bonus Plot)
What is returned: Heralds: who they are, what they do, why they exist + Companions: who they are, what they do, why they exist. The Herald knowledge would be from the Herald point of view and the Companion knowledge from the Companion. These are paired because Heralds and Companions work as a team and because Savil/Sayvil had been first one, then the other.

Arthur's and Shou's muns have given me permission for the proximity echoes.

Player: Joysweeper
Character: Julien
Reason for Echo: Trying his hand at hacking! Julien's decent with computers on his own and has learned to make electronic security systems sit up and beg, but he hasn't gone after information before.
Type and tier: Knowledge or ability, Tier 1
What is returned: Rounding out his mastery of unauthorized access, Julien echoes Yuuya's elite hacker skills. He wouldn't be so good against aliens and their unfamiliar tech, but human stuff? Can do.

Oh right! Sorry, I misread that. It's just as well, though. Nobody needs My Lady's Eyes inflicted on them.

Player: Lisa
Character: Danny Fenton
Reason for Echo: seeing the lights in Tokyo (whenever that goes down, this one is getting put in early)
What is returned: tier 2, his duplication ability--what little of it he has, anyway. Danny can make copies of himself that act independently of him and have all the same powers and capabilities he does. The only difference is, it'll poof into thin air if he gets hit too hard. The downside is, he can only make just one of them on a good day.

Character: Jovan Burzek/Nathan Young
Reason for Echo: the hair in the London Underground!
What is returned: tier 2, more advanced "magic". Previously, he could only alter minor details--changing what something said or turning one small thing into a very similar small thing (a pen into a pencil). This would give him the power to actually conjure things from scratch--anything of a size/weight that he could hold in his arms, limited, of course, to only physical items (so he can't, say, magically will an alien to death. He can will a pistol to shoot the alien to death with, but he can't directly think it to death). But otherwise, if he can think it, he can make it.
