Echo Requests (retired)

Please fill out this form when requesting an Echo, then post it to this entry. The request will be dealt with as soon as possible.

When requesting an Echo induced by a past-life parallel/recurrence, please demonstrate clearly the similarity between the events, as well as the relation between the events and what is returned.

As of September 2013, Tier 2 Echoes can be granted once a month per character. Take care to specify the limitations and/or level of detail to the Echo requested! If you are unsure, suggestions will be gladly offered.

Reason for Echo: What caused the Echo, whether it be by a plot-related trigger or a canon recurrence. For the latter, this must be unusual enough to have been the first time the character has encountered it within Locke City, and strongly resemble a specific event from canon. Picking up a jug of milk from the store will not cause an Echo if it isn't any different than the times the character has done it before.
Type and tier: Physical change, power/ability, mental/memory, or item/creature. Tier 1 are the regular Echoes, and are typically a single memory/ability/item/etc. Tier 2 are essentially two regular Echoes rolled into one, such as an item and a memory or ability associated with it, or two directly-related memories, or so on. Currently only one Tier 2 Echo is allowed per month, so please be sure to note them somehow on your info posts.
What is returned: In the case of canon recurrences, these must be directly related to what has caused the Echo. Stronger recurrences = stronger Echoes.

Player: Krystal
Character: Aragorn
Reason for Echo: Two: one for speaking with the Sage and one for being caught in the trap.
What is returned: The Sage meeting gives him the memory of his first time in Moria, from crossing the threshold to coming out the other side. The sprung trap gives him memories of the second time in Moria, from the opening of the gate to coming out into the open air. He has no context for either memory.

Character: Toushirou Hitsugaya

What is returned: His captain's haori. Symbolically significant, but functionally useless.

Player: MaxSalsa
Character: Winter Adamas [Rikka Hishikawa]

Reason for Echo: In the library, Winter will be finding a book of the Hundred Poems, with each poem translated into English and then presented in romaji and as they appear on cards for karuta (a Japanese game where the first half of one of the Hundred will be randomly read, and the players race to grab a card from in front of them with the other half), and will find the poems interesting, and sit there reading them for a good long time. Rikka memorized most of the Hundred and played karuta at a decent level. (I haven't done this with her yet - I intend to make a post of her in the library once the Sage business is done with, I just wanna do this first.)

What is returned: [Mental] Winter will find, as the afternoon goes on, that she can finish the poems after she starts them - in Japanese, which she doesn't speak other than both halves of the Hundred. She'll also have a vague feeling that "she" - Rikka - was interested in the Hundred Poems because many of them were love poems.

Sure thing!

So far, the blaster's fire power is enough to take down a wooden or stone wall, or maybe leave a dent on some incredibly thick material. If it's combined with two or more blasters, then its fire power should be increased. It's probably lethal, given its power. But that depends, like say, facing a large alien bug monster or a robot with really thick armor. It takes a few shots for the blast to go through. And aside from that, it only shoots in one direction. Nothing fancy, really.

Just think of the blaster as one of those phasers in Star Trek. Except that there is no stunning feature.

> To be honest, I've had a little difficulty describing the details of the blaster and such since it's often used in the show. Most of the Goseigers (especially Alata) prefer to use their signature Gosei Weapons.

If this still isn't enough, I'll request something else instead. There are a lot more things in the show that needed to be explained further/worked on anyway /o\

Player: laura
Character: loki laufeyson

Reason for Echo: meeting the sage
What is returned: his stupid helmet which will, at this point, serve no other purpose than that of awkward decoration. because it is really heavy and lbr, unwearable if you're labouring under the illusion that you're a god.

Reason for Echo: the skirmish/WHATEVER TERRIBLE THINGS ACTUALLY OCCUR after the sage meeting is revealed to be a trap + cr being injured (ie. haruka) → canon recurrence! it's similar to thor/loki/et al's trip to jötunheim being the result of orchestration and it all going (objectively) pretty terribly.
What is returned: the ability to cast momentary, entirely fleeting (and somewhat faded, as if the strength isn't there) illusions. he also won't have the slightest idea how and, for the moment, will only be triggered when he's feeling desperate/in danger.

Player: Joysweeper
Character: Julien/Yuuya
Reason for Echo: Sage
What is returned: Avian vocal apparatus.

Part of Julien's larynx will move down and become part of an avian syrinx in his chest, where the trachea branches. An avian syrinx is a double-barreled bony structure with extremely elastic membranes. Vibrations of the membranes are controlled with sub-millisecond precision and resonate through the rest of the body.

What does this mean? Julien's voice will change dramatically. It'll be possible to speak intelligibly and extraordinarily fast without use of lips or tongue, and to produce two similar tones of voice at once. He'll end up with a ridiculously wide vocal range spanning from above soprano to around bass, with great resonance and richness. Rapid, smooth trills, overtones, and pure tones are easily produced, it's possible to vocalize clearly on the inhale as well as the exhale, and he can be much louder if so inclined.

With practice he'll be able to mostly imitate human voices albeit with an odd quality to them, including his own old voice. Since uplifted pigeons have weird specialized syrinxes, Julien retains his size and a mostly-human bodyplan and can't inflate his throat, and he won't be imitating birds, he won't really sound like a given bird, but there will be some of that curious resonating quality you can hear most clearly in deeper birdcalls like mourning doves and ostriches.

Character: Thomas Akagi
Reason for Echo: Meeting the Sage
What is returned: A Mental Echo of his knowledge of his favorite anime, Nijiyome Academy Z-Cune Aoi and all things related to it. It's an odd magical girl series that he is obsessed over, but this knowledge also comes with it vague memories of his transformation device and the Itasha with a really gaudy Z-Cune Aoi inspired painted paint job that served as the Akibaranger's robot.

Ah, I actually meant that he'd posted while it was still up, since he'd visited the gallery on May 31. If that's not possible, though, that's perfectly fine and I would prefer the healing spells. c:

Since it might be needed for the latest plot event, I'd like the cure spell to be limited by stamina- it would heal relatively minor flesh wounds with each use of the spell, e.g. burns and cuts, and reapplication would be possible. He would have gained the ability last May 31, just unaware of it, so I think by the time of the plot event, Riku's stamina may hold out for about 3-5 uses if that's acceptable.

And qq: I'm aaalso not sure but since hooded people in caves and doors/keys/lights are part of Riku's canon, would this be enough to trigger a canon reoccurence or no? c:
