Echo Requests
Please fill out this form when requesting an Echo, then post it to this entry. The request will be dealt with as soon as possible.
When requesting an Echo induced by a past-life parallel/recurrence, please demonstrate clearly the similarity between the events, as well as the relation between the events and what is returned.
As of September 2013, Tier 2 Echoes can be granted once a month per character. Take care to specify the limitations and/or level of detail to the Echo requested! If you are unsure, suggestions will be gladly offered.
As of November 2014, Characters who have had their echoes for over a year can cause echoes in other people This is involuntary, cannot be controlled by either character and doesn't require a recurrence. The receiving character must have 15 echoes or less; they must be physically close to the other character; only tier 1 echoes can be caused that way; one cannot give themselves echoes. Both players must, of course, have consented to this oocly. A character can receive echoes through this mechanic no more than 10 times, and only up to 3 times from the same character. If requesting one of these echoes, please indicate the character from which the echo was received.
Reason for Echo: What caused the Echo, whether it be by a plot-related trigger, a person or a canon recurrence. For the latter, this must be unusual enough to have been the first time the character has encountered it within Locke City, and strongly resemble a specific event from canon. Picking up a jug of milk from the store will not cause an Echo if it isn't any different than the times the character has done it before.
Type and tier: Physical change, power/ability, mental/memory, or item/creature. Tier 1 are the regular Echoes, and are typically a single memory/ability/item/etc. Tier 2 are essentially two regular Echoes rolled into one, such as an item and a memory or ability associated with it, or two directly-related memories, or so on. Currently only one Tier 2 Echo is allowed per month, so please be sure to note them somehow on your info posts.
What is returned: In the case of canon recurrences, these must be directly related to what has caused the Echo. Stronger recurrences = stronger Echoes.

...Most of this is going to be "family catching him up" stuff because that's what they do. Going to cherry pick the big things from the grand cast list of memories and assume that basic information like names and whatnot can just be told otherwise we'll be here all night.
Reason for Echo: MASSIVE INFO DUMP
Type and tier: Type 1, mental-ish?
What is returned: The ability to read and write dwarven runes
Type and tier: Type 1, memory
What is returned: the Unexpected Party at Bag End, though with slightly more knowledge than Fíli and Kíli have since he arrived first. Also gives him his name with "Dwalin, at your service" at Bilbo's door

What is returned: Knowing he has some kind of connection to the royal line after hearing that his Numbered family was apparently royal, though not being sure what his is specifically

What is returned: Saving two small/young members of the Company from falling to their deaths during the storm the stone giants fight in, then saving Thorin as well when he nearly falls

What is returned: Orcs are the absolute scum of the earth and need to die before they're born more or less

What is returned: Gandalf could light things on fire with magic
NOW THAT THAT'S OVER, ON TO NEW THINGS
Reason for Echo: Killian and Thorir speaking Khuzdul to him since they know he's also a dwarf and they just picked it up themselves
Type and tier: Type 1, mental-ish
What is returned: The Khuzdul language, understanding and speaking
Reason for Echo: Massive sparring session to try and force combat-type echoes
Type and tier: Tier 2 for March, physical/item
What is returned: Not sure if this is too much, so option 1 (preferred) is all of his combat abilities (short range weapons + throwing axes/knives) as the first tier and his actual dual axes Grasper and Keeper as the second tier. If that's too much, I'll stick with first tier as just ability to use axes in combat with the second tier still being his actual weapons.
Reason for Echo: Seeing Thorir fight with a sword and shield
Type and tier: Type 1, memory
What is returned: The final battle of Azanulbizar, with a ridiculous number of dead dwarves and orcs, Thrain disappearing, and Thorin taking command with his oaken branch and leading the final charge of his people.
Probably more to come from that log so we'll see what pops up there.

Would the info-dumping be assumed to be done over a brief (one or two nights) or lengthier (over the course of a few days to a week) period? It is the psychological impact of a trigger that sets off an Echo - it's preferred that Echo triggers have room to "stand out" on their own rather than come rapid-fire over a very short period!
Meanwhile, your last three Echoes are approved, with the second as the second option (axe-wielding ability and his previous incarnation's axes)!
