Echo Requests

Please fill out this form when requesting an Echo, then post it to this entry. The request will be dealt with as soon as possible.

When requesting an Echo induced by a past-life parallel/recurrence, please demonstrate clearly the similarity between the events, as well as the relation between the events and what is returned.

As of September 2013, Tier 2 Echoes can be granted once a month per character. Take care to specify the limitations and/or level of detail to the Echo requested! If you are unsure, suggestions will be gladly offered.

As of November 2014, Characters who have had their echoes for over a year can cause echoes in other people This is involuntary, cannot be controlled by either character and doesn't require a recurrence. The receiving character must have 15 echoes or less; they must be physically close to the other character; only tier 1 echoes can be caused that way; one cannot give themselves echoes. Both players must, of course, have consented to this oocly. A character can receive echoes through this mechanic no more than 10 times, and only up to 3 times from the same character. If requesting one of these echoes, please indicate the character from which the echo was received.

Reason for Echo: What caused the Echo, whether it be by a plot-related trigger, a person or a canon recurrence. For the latter, this must be unusual enough to have been the first time the character has encountered it within Locke City, and strongly resemble a specific event from canon. Picking up a jug of milk from the store will not cause an Echo if it isn't any different than the times the character has done it before.
Type and tier: Physical change, power/ability, mental/memory, or item/creature. Tier 1 are the regular Echoes, and are typically a single memory/ability/item/etc. Tier 2 are essentially two regular Echoes rolled into one, such as an item and a memory or ability associated with it, or two directly-related memories, or so on. Currently only one Tier 2 Echo is allowed per month, so please be sure to note them somehow on your info posts.
What is returned: In the case of canon recurrences, these must be directly related to what has caused the Echo. Stronger recurrences = stronger Echoes.

What is returned: A general knowledge of the Dark Side and what it does to a person; it's like a fuel that runs a lot hotter and faster but damages the engine. Acting on base emotions has physical effects and makes the user's personality change until their allegiances shift and they 'fall'. Everyone feels tempted or dips into the Dark Side at some point and that can be recovered and repented from, but historically it's believed that someone who's fallen can never be completely redeemed. It's important to be able to be calm, but not so detached that you don't care about the people around you; both over and underinvestment in people can lead that way.

Reason for Echo: At some point someone's going to mention enhanced senses where she can see it. Tash is not shown with this power in her early teens, but she studies under someone who makes a point of teaching it to everyone.

What is returned: The ability to increase or diminish the sensitivity of any of her senses. Hearing to the point of being able to track legendarily stealthy people through brush, sight to seeing in very low light, touch to being able to navigate fine when there's no light at all, etc.
It also means if she has time and focus to use it extremely bright light and loud noise can't hurt her, and she can just choose not to feel pain.

Type and tier: Probably a tier 2, ability if it can count as a tier 1 I'll make it a tier 2 with the add-on below.
What is returned: Rebellion's upgraded moveset, Tony already has the base ones (through Million stab) so this would fill out his ability list, but I'd like to nix Air Hike and treat that one as it's treated in DMC4 as a separate ability. This just rounds out the moveset, minus Swordmaster of course because he doesn't have that yet. Oh he can't do Glide yet either. So basically Stinger and Drive I think is all he gets.

Iiiif that counts as a tier 1, can I add in his base demon magic? It doesn't do a whole lot on its own, as I explained once it's mostly a passive thing that he can sometimes focus through certain objects to basically supercharge what they can already do. Such as make a motorcycle go faster, or focused through a gun as magic bullets.

Most guns can't handle that (Ebony and Ivory being the exception as they're built for it), and most other things he does that to tend to explode after. R.I.P. Lady's bike. He won't know how to use it initially and will just need to practice before he can do anything other than accidentally blowing stuff up.

Drive and Stinger look similar enough to be counted as one tier in this specific case, mostly because it would make for great comedic effect if Tony accidentally explodes things during the invasion but also because Stinger doesn't seem to be much of an extra ability going by the wiki.

Probably about twice as powerful/damaging as vanilla Sunny Fire, but can only be used if accompanied by an insane amount of hotblooded fighting spirit.

Reason for Echo: HOLY CRAP! THE MOON IS A SNAKE! (Pink Space Lights)
Type and tier: Power/Tier 2
What is returned: A fully functioning pocket watch (and the power of flight). Celine's watch is enchanted to act as leverage for her abilities to make up for her poor magical skill. In addition a spell for flight was included in the watch though it will take practice to utilize this properly as its not an innate ability like her time manipulation. The watch also has several minor spells built into the enchantment to increase durability and to keep it looking mundane when not in use.

The method of the enchantment creates several weaknesses. She's extremely susceptible to lingering hostile magic, curses being the worst, and if she's disconnected from the watch it will leave her disoriented and violently ill or possibly even unconscious. Any space she had been sustaining will return to its original state.

(note: this does NOT extend the duration that Celine can endure a single timestop.)

Basically, Torin will know that he's been terribly outnumbered in a fight and kicked all sorts of butt anyway.

Reason for Echo: Plot Echo: THAT'S NO MOON, IT'S A GIANT FRIGGIN SNAKE on the 29th.
Type and tier: Tier 2, physical changes
What is returned: Christobel fully becomes a Cybertronian. She will remain the same size as she is now (about 5'6"), but her body is now fully mechanical. She no longer needs to breathe; however, she still "sleeps" (enters a recharge phase), though she only needs about four to six hours of recharge instead of eight. She needs energon for sustenance, but thanks to a previous Echo she can easily synthesize it with the right tools, and can "eat" other sources of energy, such as electricity, fossil fuels, etc; she can even eat human food in an emergency, but this will be super gross tasting and cause her to feel sick. All these sources are far less efficient (and tasty) to her than pure energon.

If she's fighting/exerting herself she needs to "eat" once a day, consuming about as much energy as a Tesla roadster needs to recharge to full. If she's not using her alt mode and is basically just walking around doing normal stuff (not flying, shooting lasers, etc) she only needs to charge once a month.

Christobel also gets an alternate mode (technically, she already has one, as she can use a synthetic skin to pass as human; that's from a previous echo): a small human-sized drone fighter. The main advantage of her alternate mode is that she can fly faster and is more maneuverable; she can also pass as a normal military aircraft, maybe. She can use her weapons in this mode, but obviously has no hands. If a character is very, very small (less than 1ft tall) she has a small pressurized cockpit area that somebody could ride in, but good luck convincing her to let you do that.

What is returned: The other version of Diamond Blizzard, which freezes enemies into solid blocks of ice. Rikka only used this power once, but meh, it's handy. It's not as powerful, but it doesn't require her to be inside the area of effect, either. So, uh, valid tradeoff?

She'll also remember herself and Alice fighting enemies, and Rikka's use of that power, which amounted to Diamond freezing an enemy general solid, and Rosetta shattering it into little pieces. The enemies themselves aren't important, but the method is - it's going to give Winter some ideas. Right until the aliens come with firebreathing.

What is returned: The second stage of his Mind Control power, which is being able to give more complex, subtle commands to people, which can cause people do his bidding in the long term while still retaining their own intelligence and initiative. (In canon he used it over time to take over an entire organization and keep its people working for him, if that's an example of what it does.) The memory gained would be of the aformentioned using the power to take over said organization.

An opt-out post already exists for his existing level of Mind Control, and I pretty much just intend for this to be used on non-numbered NPCs to assist with the evacuation and securing of Locke City.

This relates to the canon recurrence because he had the flag during the ride-to-the-sea he took with the ghosts and also because it played a part in the ghosts recognizing him as the heir of Isildur.

What is returned: All in one, because this is a doozy - this one returns Nanoha's Blaster Mode, the next stage of her power, which is your atypical all around boosts yet again except this one comes with a catch. That being, it eats away at her own life force, making it highly dangerous and volatile to utilize. It's so dangerous, that besides having to be authorized to wield it in the first place by her superiors, Blaster Mode itself has a series of locks that she has to willingly disengage and subject herself to yet more stress and potential, inevitable exhaustion or death.

As an aside, and can be taken as the second part of the tier 2 if need-be, in this form she can also summon tiny mobile weapons around her called "Blaster Bits." They amplify her established spells like Divine Buster and Starlight Breaker, and can act on their own to fire off beams of energy.

As always with any of Nanoha's actual spells, carrying over to Natalie, they are inherently not lethal in and of themselves alone.

Reason for Echo: Plot - SPAAAAAAAAACE SNAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAKE
Type and tier: Tier 2, Ability/Memory-ish?
What is returned: Natalie regains Nanoha's vast array of magical combat knowledge. It's simple, but huge enough for a Tier 2 - Nanoha is the foremost combat instructor of her age in the TSAB, and that knowledge will (finally) allow Natalie to (at last) be a capable combatant.

What is returned: Bardiche gains the ability to assume its Riot Blade form in Impulse Form, which transforms it into a a sword with an electrical energy blade. It has the ability to slice even through spells that have anti-magic properties.

Reason for Echo: Plot - Tokyo
Type and tier: Tier 2, ability
What is returned: Fuyuka gains the ability to perform Sonic Drive, which allows her to assume Sonic Form, a transformation that affords her greater offensive power and speed, as well as transforming her barrier jacket into something more revealing lighter. However, her defensive abilities are diminished in this form as a cost of using it.

Covering the second part of the Tier 2 echo is Bardiche, which becomes Riot Zanber in this form, which has two states: Riot Zanber Stinger, where Bardiche splits into two riot blades separated by an energy string, and Riot Zanber Calamity, where she connects both blades into a single massive one.

What is returned: Fuyuka gains Fate's magical combat knowledge, which, as she was an ace said to be on Nanoha's level, is quite massive and thus qualifies for a Tier 2.

Reason for Echo: GIANT SERPENT MOON
Type and tier: Tier 2 (Physical/Memory) - May
What is returned: Physical: Hollow physiology. A Hollow hole opens on his chest. It’s about the size of a softball, deep and dark, and through and through. It causes constant pain varying from achey to searing, but doesn’t seem to interfere with his breathing and other bodily functions, despite the fact that it should pass through his lungs, heart, and vertebral column. He gains permanent claws on his hands and toes and a bit more muscle. His sclera turn black and his irises turn yellow with slitted pupils, eliminating his need for glasses. Hollows (and Zanpakutou, for that matter) are technically spirits, but Shiro maintains a physical form. He begins to read more like a spirit or a Lich to those who are spiritually sensitive, and gives the living the heebie jeebies. BASICALLY, appearance echo; the echoening.
- Memory: The knowledge that he is both a Hollow AND a Zanpakutou. He also learns what a Zanpakutou is; the weapon of a Shinigami, containing it’s own spirit and desires, but inextricably linked to its wielder. These echoes are related in that it basically brings Shiro up to speed with is former self in appearance and general knowledge of what he was.

Reason for Echo: Running into a spoopy ghost light, trying to eat it, and then barfing it back up. A plot echo.
Type and tier: Tier 1 - Ability
What is returned: Cero. A powerful blast of condensed spiritual power, and the ultimate weapon of Hollows, Arrancar, and Visoreds. Shiro’s takes the form of a black beam with a red aura, just like his spiritual power, and can punch a hole in a variety of things… including space ships.

Reason for Echo: Using a teleporter for the first time!
Type and tier: Tier 1 - Memory
What is returned: The name of “Getsuga Tenshou” (a previous echo), which, by the laws of shounen, also improves it’s attack power.
