Echo Requests (retired)

Please fill out this form when requesting an Echo, then post it to this entry. The request will be dealt with as soon as possible.

When requesting an Echo induced by a past-life parallel/recurrence, please demonstrate clearly the similarity between the events, as well as the relation between the events and what is returned.

As of September 2013, Tier 2 Echoes can be granted once a month per character. Take care to specify the limitations and/or level of detail to the Echo requested! If you are unsure, suggestions will be gladly offered.

Reason for Echo: What caused the Echo, whether it be by a plot-related trigger or a canon recurrence. For the latter, this must be unusual enough to have been the first time the character has encountered it within Locke City, and strongly resemble a specific event from canon. Picking up a jug of milk from the store will not cause an Echo if it isn't any different than the times the character has done it before.
Type and tier: Physical change, power/ability, mental/memory, or item/creature. Tier 1 are the regular Echoes, and are typically a single memory/ability/item/etc. Tier 2 are essentially two regular Echoes rolled into one, such as an item and a memory or ability associated with it, or two directly-related memories, or so on. Currently only one Tier 2 Echo is allowed per month, so please be sure to note them somehow on your info posts.
What is returned: In the case of canon recurrences, these must be directly related to what has caused the Echo. Stronger recurrences = stronger Echoes.

Character: Azure / Mezool
Reason for Echo: Hajime says more about out of body experiences, sealed monsters, and bugmen than Azure's heard in her life. All relevant to Mezool, who IS a monster who was once sealed who has seen Azure's lookalike in reality and had a complicated relationship with an actual bugman.
What is returned: ULTIMATE SHOWDOWN OF ULTIMATE DESTINY. She remembers being in a battle at night, fighting alongside a bugman. One of the two she had been fighting stabs the other in the back, and then she gets pulled towards a light.

Reason for Echo: SO THIS DEFINITELY HAPPENED
What is returned: A part in episode 16 where Uva (the bugman Mezool is familiar with) literally turns into a bugman from his human form and tries to shaaaank her. WHICH IS CONFUSING BECAUSE WEREN'T THEY WORKING TOGETHER IN THE LAST MEMORY? god DAAAANG. She doesn't remember how she got out of that tho :(

Character: Skyler / Sora
Reason for Echo: Skyler was on the spelunking trip! He didn't get to see any Vermedi but did get some weird vibes from the deeper portions of the caverns.
What is returned: The ability to float for a couple of seconds! Note that he has to already be in midair for it to take effect, so it's more like a slower descent or a glide rather than true flight. Also, since he only has control of it for a few seconds, if he were to, say, fall off a sky scraper, he'd have to activate it again and again, or alternatively, activate it right before he hits the ground for the ability to save his life. Otherwise he'll just resume acceleration from 0. ADDITIONALLY, he must be thinking a very happy thought or of a very good memory for it to trigger. :)b

Reason for Echo: And on that same trip, assuming the cave paintings are still there, Sora's had some intimate experience with caves and drawings...
What is returned: A memory of Kairi and him in the Secret Place. She turns around and flies straight for him, and from his perspective, it will appear as though Kairi flew through him. :Db no context theater!

Reason for Echo: Aaron waxes poetic about memories and identity, Sora's been through that shit in Castle Oblivion like howwww.
What is returned: Memories from Castle Oblivion. Seeing as how they've been modified and locked away as of current canon, I propose that they give him physical pain when he tries to recall them. The symptoms come in the form of mild headaches, lightheadedness, and a loud ringing noise in his ears. This should discourage him from wanting to recall the memories afterward, and will make his understanding of the memories unclear. These are the exact scenes he can recall with enough effort; anything with a *** is just visual/auditory noise. He does not know who any of these people are.

Sora: What's ******?

Jiminy: ********************** worries me. What could he have meant ******************?

Character: Toni/Naoto
Reason for Echo: ONCE AGAIN THAT CONVERSATION WITH HAJIME. Particularly this gem of a comment.
What is returned: Teddie/Kuma. His appearance, that he's not human (but not what species he is) and yet he has a Shadow too. Plus a few feelings of exasperation and fondness towards him. No name or that he has a Persona too. Nor his human form.

Character: Miles/Hope
Reason for Echo: This conversation, particularly that of Sandrath asking if the military Miles described is from the future (the military he'd seen in his first echo, in fact).
What is returned: The knowledge that no, that particular military is not from any sort of future Earth, but from a completely different world instead. He wont know the name of the world though, just that it's most definitely not Earth.

Hey, so sorry for the delay! Unfortunately, neither of these really seem to have a strong enough reason behind them. With the second, simply a comment asking about something from a memory Echo wouldn't really be enough to trigger an Echo unless it happens to mirror a particular event from canon in some way. And, while the first might be enough, the fact that she's already been pinged from the conversation makes us think it's kind of pushing it....

Again, sorry for the wait, especially with bad news presented. If you can come up with something else or a better explanation of cause, please don't hesitate to say so.

Reason for Echo: Parallel - telling his movie night guests that he's a vampire, just as he confessed to the readers of the ledgers that he was a vampire.
What is returned: His ledger, missing all entries save for one -- the entry he confided in. Note: in regards to "filtered" conversations, only those he writes or those that are filtered to him are physically present in his ledger.

Reason for Echo: Discussing brothers in these strange memories here, along with pointing out that he and his own brother don't get along, with Alex.
What is returned: Memory of a masked man calling himself Ocean Master, knowing that was his brother, and being highly disappointed that Ocean Master was a villain after all. He won't remember any other names, any other details of their relationship, or actually fighting Ocean Master.

Reason for Echo: Larp log! She's going to fight a guy while dressed as a pirate fairy, and she'll be using a foam sword. In canon, Vriska fights Bec Noir while dressed as a pirate fairy. With a sword.
What is returned: THE SWORD, PLEASE. Without any knowledge of how to use it. I'm also assuming it does not come with any power boosts or magical properties! It will also mysteriously disappear when Octavia eventually echoes back Vriska's dice at some point in the future, since this copy of the sword is a construct of the dice (Homestuck, man).

Character: Barnaby Brooks Jr.
Reason for Echo: Canon parallel from watching the video of Paul Ben's death, namely the whole "witnessing a shooting homicide" thing.
What is returned: The memory of seeing a gunman with a tattoo standing in a burning room (this image), along with the knowledge that this person has just killed someone and he's a witness. He won't remember who the gunman is, who was killed, or even the rest of the memory, just this brief moment of it. This is because he's only getting Echoed back the specific edit to this memory that made him unable to remember who the shooter is, and not the whole memory itself. His memory of his parents' death has been edited so much that it'll take a Family Pack of Echoes to get through.

Reason for Echo: This whole conversation about Titans and Ellie and spies and stuff.
What is returned: Remembering that Ryan, Ellie, and him were some kind of team, and that they were unlike "normal" Titans. He'll know they were really close, and that they might not have been fighting for the "right" reasons.

Character: Bertholdt Fubar
Reason for Echo: HOLY SHIT ALAN SAID "COLOSSAL TITAN" also they talked about "The Wall," whatever that is.
What is returned: Bertholdt's dependency on sunlight, along with a gradual loss of appetite. He'll think the loss of appetite is from his condition but it won't get any better.

Reason for Echo: This comment paralleling a conversation Shinji and Asuka had in canon where Asuka casually admits she's doing poorly in school because she can't read kanji.
What is returned: The ability to fluently speak (but not read or write) Japanese. For continuity's sake with my more recent post, Asuka won't realize she regained this ability until later.

Reason for Echo: "I'm not Starscream-"
What is returned: So once Vector Prime knew this guy named Starscream. Starscream was kind of an antagonist. Elian will recieve flashes of one of his strongest memories of Starscream; the time he decided to challenge a god, after absorbing part of the god's life force.
Now, Elian won't remember all of this; mostly flashes of the first part of this clip. Starscream's metamorphosis in to a giant threat, his gloating, and Vector/Elian's own great concern at the idea that something he held very important, very dear, the most important- in danger because of Starscream.

Reason for Echo: This conversation about the fear of losing friends and what you do about it.
What is returned: This memory, "Feel like writing me off as a heartless bastard yet?" Part of a conversation Yuuya had with Ryouta about something similar.

If Julien paid attention to how it felt to move there or really focused on trying to make a picture of Ryouta, he'd know they were birds. But he's not going to now.

What is returned: Being kind of an evasive person, Avery has never actually been hit like this before. In canon, Dave regularly gets the hell beaten out of him by his Bro. I'd like to slowly begin returning Dave's fighting/physical capabilities to Avery, over the course of several echoes. The steps I propose are:

1. Muscle memory
2. Speed
3. Musculature
4. Sword skills

Thus, I'd like her to receive muscle memory of fighting techniques that Dave would have been trained in by his brother.

Reason for Echo: Witnessing the reappearance of the pink light in the sky on the 21st.

What is returned: It was implementing the crystals found inside the geode that she has already received from an Echo into a set of designs that caused Rarity's cutie mark to make its appearance; her Echo will split the geode down the middle to reveal the crystals inside as was done to it in her past life and grant Cinderella Rarity's three-diamonds cutie mark.

Reason for Echo: Seeing the pink lights in the sky
Type and tier: Memory, 1st tier
What is returned: The memory of Celes castle, in all its splendid floating-in-the-air-in-defiance-of-gravity glory.

Reason for Echo: Canon occurrence, caused by seeing his sister zone out during the weirdness happening afterwards. This being reminiscent of the way Sakura momentarily goes incommunicado and then forgets what she was talking about every time she gets close to regaining certain memories.
Type and tier: Memory, second tier I think
What is returned: The memory of this girl (just her face and her name) and the knowledge that some of her memories were given to someone as payment, and that she could never have them back again.

What is returned: Another degree of zombification - moving him to 4/6 steps along the physically-dying part of it. For the most part symptoms worsen as they've already been doing - stiffening up, vital signs dropping, and his natural self-repair from damage slowing to an effective nothing. It's also at this point that decomposition advances into obviously apparent - the Echo taking effect will leave him with a few holes opening up in his face, his eyes grayed-over, his hair coming out easily, and a bit of the expected smell, as the clear ways.

Reason for Echo: Marksmanship lessons from Kotetsu, planned on the network and handwaved to have happened. First time she's handled a gun in this life.
Type and tier: ability, tier 1
What is returned: Further regular-gun marksmanship skills; she still won't be very good with moving or small targets, but if it's large and relatively still she'll hit what she's aiming at.

Reason for Echo: The light show on the 21st.
Type and tier: item, tier 1
What is returned: Her service revolver. Essentially useless considering she has no license to carry, and it won't come with any bullets unless it happens to have a couple loaded.

Reason for Echo: Planned log for the next couple days in which Julien stealths up behind her and startles the bejeezus out of her; while Julien won't be doing it on purpose, her former boss does this all the time. (Seriously; it was a point late in S4 that Mrs. Frederic walking out of a room was a Bad Sign.)

What is returned: The memory of an imposing black lady who liked to pop up in rooms and startle the bejeezus out of people.
